Job summary

University of Arizona is seeking an Online Program Manager to guide campus partners in developing, onboarding, and maintaining online programs, certificates, and courses. This role analyzes enrollment data, supports forecasting, and ensures program alignment with online standards and processes.

The position entails a hybrid work arrangement with required weekly onsite presence at the Tucson campus. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; professional experience accepted.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with university administrative systems such as UAccess Student (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions), UAccess Analytics, and schedule of classes/RCS processes.
  • Experience developing professional resources such as best practice guides, web content, or program documentation.

Manager, Online Program

The Online Program Manager position guides campus partners through the development, maintenance, and onboarding of online academic programs, certificates, and courses. It is responsible for managing both new and existing programs within the portfolio, ensuring smooth administrative processes, and maintaining transparency between Arizona Online and campus stakeholders. The role collects and analyzes enrollment and forecasting data, manages course development workflows, and provides ongoing program maintenance to support institutional goals. The Academic Program Officer II ensures that academic partners have the resources and implementation support necessary to successfully transition and sustain their programs in the fully online modality.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. While many responsibilities may be completed remotely, the role requires weekly onsite presence at the Tucson, Arizona campus to fulfill duties that must be performed in person.

Duties & Responsibilities
Data Analytics
  • Collects and analyzes enrollment and forecasting data to assess and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Utilizes UAccess Analytics and related reporting tools to support data-driven decision making by the leadership team.
Program Development & Onboarding
  • Guides campus partners through the process of onboarding new online courses, certificates, and degree programs.
  • Coordinates and plans the administration and operation of academic programs, including policy development, budgeting, cost negotiation, expenditure forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensures timely and efficient implementation of new programs in alignment with Arizona Online's standards and processes.
Relationship Building & Program Maintenance
  • Builds and sustains relationships with internal and external partners to ensure administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Creates best practice guides, web content, and other resources to inform and support campus partners.
  • Manages existing programs in the portfolio, providing ongoing maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure continued success and alignment with institutional priorities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and apply enrollment and forecasting data to inform program decision-making.
  • Skill in coordinating and managing the administration of academic programs, including budgeting, policy implementation, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage academic processes and workflows effectively.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills to work with faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skill in preparing and delivering clear, concise reports and presentations to support program goals and leadership decisions.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges, think critically, and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, structures, and best practices, particularly related to online learning and program management.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical language to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, flexibility, responsiveness, and attention to detail skills.
