Position Summary
The Manager of Technology, Security & AI is the organization’s technology leader, responsible for internal systems, infrastructure, data security, and the company’s emerging use of artificial intelligence. This role brings together technology responsibilities that are currently spread across the organization under one accountable leader. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with expertise in systems administration, security, and evaluating and deploying AI tools.
Key Responsibilities
Internal IT
- Manage the relationship with the company's managed service provider (MSP), including evaluating provider performance
- Administer and support the organization's Microsoft environment, including Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, and related tools
- Manage company devices and hardware, including procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management
- Manage technology onboarding and offboarding for employees, including provisioning and deactivating accounts, hardware, and system access
- Maintain access management standards across all systems
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies
Security
- Develop and maintain the organization's security strategy, including policies, controls, and risk management practices
- Ensure security controls align with SOC 2 and NIST frameworks
- Serve as the primary liaison with external IT auditors and lead remediation of audit findings
- Manage cyber insurance requirements, including renewals and coverage assessments
- Respond to client security inquiries and complete security questionnaires and assessments
- Maintain documentation of the company's security controls and compliance posture, keeping the organization audit‑ready with clear, current procedures
- Lead incident response planning and execution
- Coordinate vulnerability assessments and penetration testing with external partners
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Vet and establish a new AI stack and strategy for the company
- Evaluate AI tools and vendors to support business needs
- Create AI governance and security standards for organization-wide use
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science, top‑tier school preferred
- 5+ years of progressive IT or technology experience
- Experience managing MSP relationships and vendor contracts
- Working knowledge of IT security frameworks (for example, SOC 2 and NIST) and experience working with auditors
- General understanding of system integrations
- Experience evaluating and implementing AI tools, with an understanding of AI governance and security considerations
