Job summary

CFS is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting & M&A in Orlando, FL. This role builds the technical accounting function and supports acquisitions from LOI through post-close implementation, with exposure to senior leadership and sponsor reporting.

You will lead ASC 805 acquisition accounting, evaluate balance sheets and allocations, and research complex accounting matters across ASC 606, consolidations, debt, and related-party transactions. A CPA with 8+ years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Active CPA with 8+ years of progressive technical accounting experience.
• Deep practical knowledge of ASC 805, ASC 606, and U.S. GAAP.
• Public accounting or transaction advisory experience combined with corporate accounting exposure.
• Insurance, MGA, distribution, or fee-based business experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead ASC 805 acquisition accounting from LOI through measurement-period close.
• Evaluate opening balance sheets, PPA, intangibles, contingencies, and third-party valuations.
• Research complex accounting matters involving ASC 606, consolidations, debt, leases, and related-party transactions.
• Prepare clear technical accounting memoranda and group accounting policies.
• Partner with operational accounting teams to implement conclusions through journal entries, reporting, and ongoing processes.
