The candidate will design architectures, evaluate projects, and develop POCs using .NET, with a focus on scalable, innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Senior-level experience developing solutions using .NET and building hosted web apps.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience with software teams.
• Strong technical background to engage in architectural and design discussions.
• Experience with Agile disciplines, DevOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and enhance architectures, including reference and target architectures, roadmaps, and patterns.
• Evaluate new projects and architecture solutions for enterprise alignment.
• Develop POCs using .NET to communicate and implement technology strategies.
• Create technical design documents and related materials.
• Understand business processes and data flows to propose long-term architectural solutions.
• Stay informed about emerging business and technology trends.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager with strong solution architecture expertise to lead and support high-performing development teams in a modern Agile environment. This role will focus on driving technical strategy, mentoring engineering talent, and partnering closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate combines leadership capabilities with deep technical acumen and a passion for continuous improvement, collaboration, and emerging technologies.

Worksite Location:

• 4 days a week onsite expectation if located in the Twin Cities (within a one-hour commute to HQ)
• Remote-eligible position in Maple Grove (remote available if commute is over one hour from HQ)

Pay Range:

• $155-170K salary + bonus
• No work visa sponsorship available; no C2C, thank you

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, and enhance architectures, including reference and target architectures, principles, roadmaps, and patterns.
• Evaluate new projects and architecture solutions to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Develop proofs of concept (POCs) using .NET to communicate and implement technology strategies and standards.
• Create technical design documents and related materials.
• Build a deep understanding of business processes, data flows, and strategic goals to propose long-term architectural solutions.
• Stay informed about emerging business and technology trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Senior-level experience developing solutions using .NET, building hosted web-based applications, working with databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL, and using modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular (Must have some professional experience with React).
• Approximately 6 years of professional software development experience and 3 years of engineering leadership experience
• Demonstrated success leading and managing software engineers
• Strong technical background with the ability to engage in architectural and design discussions
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Agile disciplines, DevOps disciplines, and Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Designing software architectures, including n-Tier and microservices approaches.
• Significant level of architecture; knowing how to lay out systems, set design patterns and principles, create POC’s
• Strong communication skills with an ability to partner with Lead Developers and development teams
• Must be self-motivated and accountable, capable of working independently
