Automation & Modular Components (AMC), located in Davisburg, MI, is a leading manufacturer in material handling systems and solutions on a global scale. About the Role

A part of a strong and committed group covering the North American market (Canada & Mexico included), this position will be on the front line of Coesia’s overall business growth within the region. Particularly, AMC is seeking a strong Manager of Sales that will lead the continuing development and expansion of material handling solutions for newer and existing customers. This position can be remote but requires travel throughout North America to customer sites and internal business group locations within Coesia.

Managerial Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provides leadership to the sales team of 6, including collaboration and partnership with teams in Canada and Mexico; assigns targeted geographical areas as needed.
  • Motivates and encourages sales team to ensure quotas are met.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
  • Identifies customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their business needs, effectively building short- and long-term sales pipelines; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies, both internally and for external customers.
  • Prepares sales budget, all-the-while monitoring and approving expenses.
  • Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
  • Hires and trains regional and local sales managers and staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, or related field strongly preferred.
  • A comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Willingness to travel 50%+ nationally and overseas.
