Job summary

Your impact

Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power (E&P) team to support the rapidly growing power and infrastructure needs of data centers and private developers. As Manager of Projects (MOP), you will lead a portfolio of projects and serve as a key liaison with Advanced Facilities (AF), project managers, sales, Global Integrated Delivery, and regional delivery teams.

You will provide operational leadership for a portfolio of projects, guiding Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and technical performance. You will provide oversight and direction to Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams delivering projects from concept development through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of new and modified high voltage transmission lines, substations, and distribution facilities.

As an MOP for Data Centers and Private Developers, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with energy planning, engineering, program management, and construction management services. We are seeking an experienced project-delivery leader who is motivated by collaboration, client service, and successful execution of complex energy infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will help shape and deliver the energy infrastructure required to support the rapid expansion of data centers and private development. You will work across Jacobs’ technical, project management, account, and global delivery teams to provide clients with practical, reliable, and commercially successful solutions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Safety and Leadership
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure that project teams comply with Jacobs and client requirements.
  • Manage, coach, and support the professional development of Project Managers within the portfolio.
  • Ensure succession plans are in place for individuals in key roles and recommend hiring and termination actions in coordination with appropriate leaders.
  • Drive teams to provide outstanding service and solutions to clients.
  • Keep Global and Regional Management and Program Directors informed of and engaged in critical project issues and developments.
Strategic Account and Portfolio Management
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact and liaison for E&P withAdvanced Facilities (AF)Operations, partnering closely with the AF Project Managersto understand priorities, resolve issues, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Lead coordination across a portfolio of data center projects, ensuring consistent delivery, effective risk management, and alignment with client expectations
  • Partner with SalesLeadershipand the broader account team to maintain and update the data center pipeline, identify opportunities, and support proposal development
  • Capture and communicate the project management approach, delivery strategy, and relevant team experience for data center proposals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Global Integrated Delivery (GID), coordinating utilization forecasts, resource inputs, and changes across regions.
  • Coordinate with teams in the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to support integrated delivery, consistent design standards, and effective communication across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Establish clear, timely, and proactive communication with clients, project managers, technical teams, sales, and senior leadership
  • Support the development and delivery of services for private developers, including competitive transmission and related power infrastructure projects. Support the development, review, and approval of proposals, pricing, schedules, and risk reserves.
  • Engage Management, Program Directors, Legal, Contracts, and Compliance in the review and approval process.
  • Ensure that differentiating solutions and technologies are applied to pursuits and projects to win and deliver outstanding projects
  • Partner with Project Managers and Client Account Managers to maintain client satisfaction, resolve issues, and support account growth.
  • Work with Regional Management, Program Directors, and the project financial team to support business-plan forecasting and ensure that project estimates to complete are accurate.
  • Drive achievement of planned gross margin across the portfolio througheffective changemanagement, cash management, staffing, and delivery of high-quality, value-added services.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned to promote continuous product and process improvement
Quality
  • Ensure compliance with all Project Execution Group and Quality policies, procedures, protocols and work instructions and appropriate use of all mandated project tools
  • Review, approve and ensure ongoing update and management of the Project Risk Register/Mitigation Plan, Project Execution Plan and the Project Quality Plan
  • Conduct monthly Operational Project Reviews (OPRs) on all projects and publish the project review report with critical issues and actionsAttend Project Accounting Reviews (PARs) as required to discuss projects within their portfolio meeting the PAR thresholds
  • Review monthly accuracy of EACs and address variances or issues with PMs
  • Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and unbilled revenue and work with PMs to address issues as needed
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Plan including Expectation Surveys, Satisfaction Surveys, checks of deliverables and audits of the QC process
  • Ensure PMs work with Operational/Group/Design Leaders for assignment of appropriate staff to projects #epjobs #naepjobs
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, ora relateddiscipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Atleast 10years of experience managing projects related to the energy sector, transmission and distribution (T&D), industrial facilities, advanced facilities, or data centers.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with projectfinancial management, forecasting, risk management, change management, and client relationship management.
  • Experience supporting data center developers, utilities, independent power producers, infrastructure investors, or other private-sector clients is preferred.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Professional Engineer (PE)orProject Management Professional (PMP)

The base salary range for this position is $182,300.00 to $239,325.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
