Job Overview

The Manager of Partner Recruiting oversees the day-to-day administration and assists in leading the overall effectiveness of BR’s partner recruitment initiatives. The Manager of Partner Recruiting works closely with the Vice Chair of the firm, Co-Chair of Partner Recruiting, and the Chief Legal Talent Officer to assess and prioritize firmwide lateral partner hiring objectives.

This role has a hybrid working arrangement. Potential candidates must live within commuting distance of our New York or Philadelphia offices to be onsite 3 days per week. In this role, you will report to the Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration.

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate and consult closely as a team with the Director of Partner Recruiting, Co-Chairs of Partner Recruiting, and Chief Legal Talent Officer to execute on the firm’s strategic growth goals and partner recruiting initiatives.
  • Partner with firm leadership (departmental, local office partners, and administrative functions) to guide candidates through the firm’s recruiting, onboarding, and integration processes.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for candidates and search firms throughout the lateral hiring process and guide them through the recruiting and onboarding process.
  • Responsible for seamless lateral partner onboarding.
  • Perform focused market research projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with legal search firms; review and negotiate fee proposals and service agreements, and engage recruiters in the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of lateral partner candidates.
  • Consult with internal branding and marketing professionals to create effective marketing materials to support the firm's lateral partner recruiting objectives.
  • Manage candidate meeting experience and travel. Including interviewer preparations, prep calls, summary of feedback, analysis and organization of supporting documents, and the preparation of offer letters. With discretion and sensitivity, maintain clear and effective communication, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process.
  • Work closely with the client intake team to execute the firm’s due diligence process. Review conflicts reports and coordinate internal follow-up.
  • Assist in the development of partner recruitment methodologies that support and advance the firm's diversity commitment and goals.
  • Maintain recruitment data including developing reports, analyzing data, and creating effective presentations as needed.
  • Assist with managing, training, and developing the Lateral Partner Recruiting Assistant.
  • Act with a high degree of integrity and good judgement at all times; a reflection of the firm’s brand, culture, and mission.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

  • Ability to work extended hours as some evening and weekend support is required occasionally to meet business demands.
  • Ability to act with very good judgement at all times, remain discreet, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficient in web-based conference call/web-sharing applications.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000. Actual salaries will depend on a candidate's geographic location, relevant experience, and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Blank Rome’s total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
