Qualifications

  • Proven track record of developing engaging social media strategies, short-form video content, and multimedia storytelling campaigns.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Manager of Media & Content

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Office location: Miami City Ballet, 2200 Liberty Ave Miami Beach

Exemption Status: Full time, exempt

Salary Range: $65,000 yearly

Position Summary

The Manager of Media & Content works in partnership with the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing to drive Miami City Ballet’s content strategy and its vibrant multi-faceted digital storytelling efforts across all marketing channels. This role is responsible for collaboratively bringing to life in digital form all that Miami City Ballet is and aspires to be – its beauty, its passion, its impact on both young and old, the cultural significance it brings to its home in South Florida, and its relevance to the art form as one of the leading ballet companies in America.

This role is responsible for executing the planning, production, and distribution of the agreed upon multimedia content to strengthen the organization’s brand, engage audiences – both existing and new, and drive ticket sales, fundraising, and institutional priorities.

Working closely with the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, this position is responsible for managing the organization’s content ecosystem—including social media, website content, photography, video, and editorial storytelling—and the production and delivery of creative assets across departments.

Essential Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Storytelling
  • With guidance from the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, develop and execute a robust annual content strategy aligned with institutional and marketing objectives.
  • Work with the marketing team to create a wide array of engaging storytelling digital activations that elevate performances, artists, Miami City Ballet School (MCBS), development, and community engagement.
  • Proactively identify cross-promotional content opportunities across internal departments.
  • Actively monitor competitive arts, culture, and social trends to identify new content opportunities and industry best practices.
  • Ensure that all content has a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all owned digital channels.
Social Media & Digital Content
  • With direction from the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, activate and manage the social media strategy and execution across all platforms.
  • Develop platform-specific content strategies that increase audience engagement, brand awareness, ticket sales, and philanthropic support.
  • Schedule, publish, and manage compelling social media content across all platforms.
Website Management
  • Manage website content, user experience, and ongoing updates based upon the direction of the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing.
  • Collaborate internally with Marketing senior staff and other departments as necessary on landing pages, campaign launches, and digital optimization.
  • Ensure all website content remains accurate, timely, and aligned with marketing and company initiatives.
Creative Production
  • With direction from the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, activate agreed upon photography, videography, and multimedia production ensuring visually compelling content that reflects the artistic excellence of Miami City Ballet.
  • Oversee content calendars, production schedules, and creative workflows to ensure strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Coordinate freelance photographers, videographers, editors, and production vendors as needed.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner seamlessly with Marketing, Artistic and company leadership, dancers, and creative staff, bringing a deep appreciation and sensitivity to the art form.
  • Report Directly to the Director of Marketing, and collaborate closely with the Content Photographer/Videographer, Marketing Manager, Lead Designer, and external partners.
  • With the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, establish content priorities and keep production moving rapidly across multiple simultaneous campaigns.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 4–6 years of experience in digital content management, social media strategy, and video/multimedia production, preferably within the arts, culture, entertainment, or non-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of developing engaging social media strategies, short-form video content, and multimedia storytelling campaigns.
Technical & Language Skills
  • Advanced proficiency across all major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn) and social media management/analytics tools (e.g., Meltwater, Hootsuite).
  • Proficiency in project management software, specifically Asana, to organize creative workflows, track content status, and manage production timelines.
  • Hands‑on experience with digital media production tools, including video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut) and photo editing tools (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva).
  • Direct experience updating visual and written content within modern Content Management Systems (CMS), such as Silverstripe, WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred, but not required.
