Job summary

Contour in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Manager of Maintenance Control to lead the maintenance control team, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with flight operations to minimize disruptions.

The role requires a Mechanic’s Certificate (Airframe and Powerplant), 5 years in an aircraft maintenance leadership role, and the ability to pass DOT drug screening and background checks; base assignment in Smyrna/Nashville area.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Mechanic’s Certificate (A&P) with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Minimum 5 years in a role responsible for returning aircraft to service.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft, manuals, and maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and compliance are the first considerations in aircraft operations.
  • Monitor maintenance performance of all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft operations.
  • Coordinate with Flight Followers/Dispatch regarding maintenance irregularities.
  • Administer MEL/CDL/NEF procedures per Maintenance Manuals.
  • Provide leadership and training to Maintenance Controllers.
  • Monitor staffing to ensure 24/7 coverage of the operation.
  • Authorize Ferry Flights and MEL Extensions.

Summary of Essential Duties

The Manager of Maintenance Control is responsible for the management, administration of Maintenance Control and ensuring Maintenance Control personnel are properly trained and qualified.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety and compliance are the first considerations in aircraft operations.
  • Monitors maintenance performance of all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft operations.
  • Reports on essential information as to the status of operation aircraft.
  • Ensure Maintenance Control coordinates with Flight Followers/Dispatch concerning all maintenance irregularities that affect the dispatching of aircraft.
  • Responsible for the proper administration of MEL/CDL/NEF procedures as established in the General Maintenance Manual and MEL Manual.
  • Coordinates with Regional Maintenance Managers, outstation maintenance technicians and Maintenance Providers to ensure mechanical irregularities are corrected in accordance with the Company Manuals.
  • Ensures data in the pilot reports, ferry flights, SDR, MIS, delays and cancellations, etc. are recorded accurately in the maintenance information software.
  • Ensures that events that require Service Difficulty Reports (SDR) are properly identified in FOS and that the DOM is notified.
  • Confirms all work performed on Company aircraft is accomplished by qualified, authorized and approved personnel.
  • Provides leadership and training to Maintenance Controllers, as required.
  • Monitors staffing levels within Maintenance Control to ensure 24/7 coverage of the operation.
  • Authorizes Ferry Flights and MEL Extensions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED certification preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including Office 365, Excel, Outlook, and Word; familiarity with similar software applications is also required.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a variety of personalities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple priorities, managing deadlines, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities with flexibility and a strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivered with professionalism and tact.
  • Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit and pass FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year work history background check, as well as criminal history and fingerprint checks, as required by the TSA.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as operational needs dictate.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner, complying with OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Hold a Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as used by Company.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft, manuals, maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations as they relate to aircraft maintenance.
  • FAR Part 121 operational experience preferred
  • Detailed working knowledge of Quantum, FOS, and CAMP software is a strong plus.
  • Willing to accept base assignment in Smyrna/Nashville, TN area
