Job summary

Sartorius AG in Ashland, MA is seeking a Manager of Cultureware Production and Facilities to lead daily operations and maintain compliant, cost-conscious production and facility systems in a regulated biotech environment.

You will oversee procurement, inventory, maintenance, and staff development, while coordinating lab space build-out and serving on the Safety Committee to meet OSHA standards, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, Operations, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Cultureware Production and Facilities Operations experience in a regulated biotech/manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Cultureware Production operations and define production schedules aligned with cost, quality, and time targets.
• Oversee procurement of raw materials, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and maintenance of production machinery.
• Train, mentor, and support staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Manage facility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, and lab equipment in compliance with QC guidelines.
• Coordinate build-out and repurposing of laboratory space to support evolving company objectives.
• Serve as Vice Chairman of the Safety Committee and institute Hazard Communication Policy per OSHA standards.
• Conduct annual fire safety training and manage eye wash stations and safety showers across the facility.
• Reduce facility operating costs by optimizing contractor usage and performing in-house repairs.
