Job summary

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is seeking a Manager of Central Sterile Processing to lead daily SPD operations, ensure sterilization quality, and maintain instrumentation readiness for surgical services and other hospital areas.

You will oversee staff, uphold safety and quality standards, and collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows and budget adherence. This role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 3-5 years’ experience in SPD (Sterile Processing Distribution), 2-3 years’ experience as Sterile Processing Supervisor or above.
• Current CS/SPD certification with either the CBSSPD or the IAHCSMM.
• Must be able to lift and or carry 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Model responsibility and accountability within the SPD team.
• Provide instruction and direction to the team.
• Handle upset customers and communicate with other departments as needed.
• Perform quality control and continually evaluate work processes and productivity.
• Ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities to the team.
• Assess and suggest procedural changes to attain departmental goals.
• Involve the team in decisions and actions.
• Assist the Director in maintaining and monitoring the budget.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As our Manager, you will provide leadership for the daily operations for the SPD Department. You will ensure the maintenance and quality sterilization procedures and accurate record keeping of these procedures. You actions will assure adequate instrumentation functionality and availability for surgical services and various other areas of the hospital.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:
