Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Nursing Manager for the Med-Surg Telemetry unit. You will lead and mentor RNs, oversee clinical operations, and advocate for patient and team needs to drive development and unit goals.

You will ensure accountability and clear communication while navigating challenges to maintain high-quality patient care and staff performance across shifts.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minim um of three (3) years of nursing experience.
• One (1) year of leadership experience.
• Registered Nurse: AZ (RN:AZ) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Schedule nursing staff across shifts, considering utilization trends.
• Coordinate unit activities during each shift and direct staff.
• Assess, monitor, and educate nursing staff on patient care; institute emergencies.
• Provide nursing care to patients as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nursing Manager,Med-Surg Telemetry, you will be a dynamic leader, guiding and empowering our nursing team to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care through continuous growth and operational excellence.

Every day, you will lead and mentor Registered Nurses, oversee clinical operations, and advocate for patient and team needs, driving professional development and achieving unit goals.

To be successful in this role, you will embody accountability and confidence with superior communication skills for all interactions. You'll skillfully navigate challenges, ensuring individual performance and overall unit success.

• Schedules nursing staff to specific shifts, taking into account past utilization trends. Measures employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members.
• Coordinates the activities of the unit during a particular shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.
