This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, Security, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

In this role

You will lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Planners supporting the design and fabrication of New Glenn's composite products. You will influence the team's impact by shaping composites fabrication strategy, interacting with the vehicle to improve design for manufacturability, and solving technical problems.

We seek someone with technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality, passionate about our mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Enable and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Planners.
  • Perform capacity analysis, evaluate staffing, and hire strong candidates.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to ensure high manufacturing quality.
  • Develop and deploy manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce costs, and optimize schedules.
  • Manage cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware.
  • Review engineering drawings and improve manufacturability.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain hardware configuration and pedigree.
  • Develop project plans, manage risks, and resolve issues.
  • Work independently to meet long-term objectives and solve technical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, satellite, or aircraft manufacturing.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, leadership, or project management roles.
  • Experience mentoring engineers.
  • Proven technical depth in product leadership and project management.
  • Experience across product lifecycle stages.
  • Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build trust and promote inclusion.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams across locations.

Desired:

  • Experience managing dynamic organizations, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and facilities.
  • Previous managerial roles with technical project management responsibility.
