Job summary

WERC is seeking a dedicated individual to manage volunteer processes and coordinate with various committees in Washington, D.C. Responsibilities include managing the annual Call for Volunteers for over 450 members, supporting 60+ volunteer groups, and overseeing multiple project timelines.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage the annual Call for Volunteers process for 450+ WERC members.
  • Lead the coordination and high-touch support of 60+ volunteer groups and subcommittees.
  • Work with the leadership team and staff liaisons to develop and maintain committee charters and annual work plans that align key initiatives and deliverables with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and manage multiple project timelines and milestones simultaneously to ensure timely progress of action items and outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for 10-12 assigned volunteer groups, collaborating closely with co-chairs to schedule sub/committee meetings, prepare agendas, and coordinate action items.
  • Prepare regular updates and reports for board meetings, highlighting committee progress.
  • Develop onboarding, training, and recognition programs to support and sustain volunteer engagement.
  • Facilitate collaboration across volunteer groups to foster innovation and knowledge sharing within the talent mobility ecosystem.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably within a trade association context
  • Exceptional project management, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working across cultures and time zones with international member communities
  • Familiarity with the talent mobility industry or related sectors (e.g., HR, relocation, immigration, global workforce management) is preferred
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Impexium), project tracking tools (e.g. Asana), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel to annual conference
