Manager, Materials Management

The University of Miami U Health / SoLé Mia opening in June 2025 aims to bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities. Our expert team of physicians and staff will represent a wide range of specialties, including NCI–designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the number-one eye hospital in the nation. UHealth at SoLé Mia will also deliver the latest in urologic treatments from the renowned Desai Sethi Urology Institute, as well as top-ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs.

UHealth/SoLé Mia offers an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Materials Management position with a proposed hire date of December 2024. Join us and be part of the UHealth Difference.

The Manager, Materials Management develops supply chain systems and processes across the University’s service platforms, logistics, and data platforms, formulating scalable, reliable, and sustainable solutions to supply chain challenges. The role includes creating vision, setting roadmaps, and establishing goals for the products and services of the University and its divisions.

  • Collaborate with staff, senior management, and other departments to plan, build, and launch high-quality product experiences.
  • Utilize internal data, market research, and marketplace intelligence to align plans and tactics.
  • Manage the product development process from conception through design, build, release, testing, analysis, and iteration.
  • Own the development and delivery of multi-year strategic plans for assigned products and define product rollout strategies.
  • Set objectives, goals, and performance metrics to measure effectiveness and progress.
  • Analyze data to optimize performance and focus on high-potential product areas.
  • Design business process changes to simplify and optimize operations end-to-end.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff talents to improve department operations and efficiency.
  • Establish and continuously assess internal controls and ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on controls and policies.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; 4 years of healthcare supply chain experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to set goals supporting the strategic plan.
  • Effective planning, delegation, and supervision skills.
  • Leadership, motivation, development, and training abilities.

Relevant education, certifications, and work experience will be considered.
