• Quality Integration: coordinate with Supplier Quality and Incoming Inspection to evaluate quality and optimize material flow.
• Supplier Performance and Continuous Improvement: support supplier evaluations via scorecards and drive cost/delivery improvements.

Job Summary

The Manager, Materials at Day & Zimmermann plays a pivotal role within our D&Z Plants division, based in the MunitionsTexarkana,TX location. This position operates as a critical operational liaison, ensuring seamless coordination among Program Management, Inventory, Supply Chain, Planning, Warehousing, Internal Logistics, and Quality departments. The Manager is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, streamlining material flow, and driving superior production efficiencies and inventory turnover rates. This role demands a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, strong communication skills, and the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks to meet or exceed both site and customer expectations. The successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration, underpinning the achievement of company goals in a high-stakes production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Time and Risk Analysis: Collaborate closely with Program Management, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to build robust lead time models, assess ordering patterns, and anticipate supplier and internal process timelines. Identify and proactively address single points of failure within the supply chain to mitigate risks and ensure uninterrupted production. (Approx. 25%)
• Quality Integration and Issue Resolution: Lead the coordination with Supplier Quality, Incoming Inspection, and related departments to conduct regular evaluations of quality concerns. Facilitate informed disposition decisions and strategies that uphold punctual program fulfillment and optimize material flow. (Approx. 20%)
• Supplier Performance and Continuous Improvement: Partner with Supply Chain to support supplier evaluations through scorecard analysis, maintain comprehensive performance histories, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives targeting quality, cost efficiency, and delivery. Share insights and reports within the Munitions division on a quarterly cadence. (Approx. 10%)
• Subject Matter Expertise and Cost Analysis: Provide subject matter expertise on production supply chains, inventory control, and supplier order tracking within assigned areas. Develop detailed cost analyses and purchasing strategies that reflect product criticality, lead times, and inventory carrying costs, influencing procurement decisions. (Approx. 10%)
• Interdepartmental Workflow Optimization: Establish and refine interdepartmental Turn-Around-Times (TATs) to ensure prompt and accurate handoffs of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), engineering drawings, approval documents, and related materials. Uphold service level agreements (SLAs) to facilitate efficient value chain progression. (Approx. 10%)

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $91,600 - $137,400. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
