Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a Sr. Manager, Warehousing & Materials Management in the United States to lead warehousing, materials handling, tooling, and logistics for large enterprise projects.

You will coordinate internal teams and third-party providers to meet safety, scheduling, and cost objectives. The role partners with construction and operations, driving asset utilization, control of inventory, and standardized processes across MC projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Management or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in warehousing, materials management, logistics, or related operations.
  • Experience leading teams and using SAP or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead warehousing, materials management, tooling, equipment support, and logistics for MC Enterprise projects, ensuring needs are met safely and in alignment with schedules and client expectations.
  • Direct warehouse and satellite facility operations, inventory control, fleet vehicle management, and third-party tool and equipment providers; ensure tools, equipment, consumables, and plant materials are received, stored, issued, tracked, maintained, and dispositioned to optimize availability and asset utilization.
  • Manage centralized requisitioning and material-asset processes for permanent plant materials, consumables, tools, and equipment; maintain records, status reporting, and system controls (SAP/ERP) to support planning, cost control, and loss prevention.
  • Lead, guide, and develop teams responsible for warehousing, requisitioning, materials management, tools, and equipment; set priorities, monitor performance, and coach for safe, accountable execution.
  • Serve as SME and process owner for Materials Management, Tooling and Equipment, and Warehousing programs; develop and standardize procedures, controls, and training across MC businesses.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain leadership, site management, internal customers, and external providers regarding logistics, inventory, material availability, asset risk, and schedule impacts.

Impact You’ll Make

The Sr. Manager, Warehousing & Materials Management plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the effective management and oversight of warehousing, materials, equipment, tooling, fleet vehicles, and inventory control operations that support multiple high-impact projects across our enterprise supply chain business unit.

This leadership position serves as the primary liaison for construction and operations teams, ensuring seamless coordination of materials and assets both internally and through third-party providers, thereby supporting safe project execution, meeting schedule milestones, optimizing asset utilization, and minimizing loss.

As the Sr. Manager, Warehousing & Materials Management, here's the work you’ll do:
  • Lead warehousing, materials management, tooling, equipment support, and logistics for MC Enterprise projects, including maintenance, outages, shutdowns, mobilization, and demobilization. Ensure project material, tool, and equipment needs are met safely and in alignment with schedules and client expectations.
  • Direct warehouse and satellite facility operations, inventory control, fleet vehicle management, and third-party tool and equipment providers. Ensure tools, equipment, consumables, and permanent plant materials are received, stored, issued, tracked, maintained, and dispositioned to optimize availability and asset utilization. Manage vehicle assignments, utilization, maintenance, inspections, registrations, and driver records.
  • Manage centralized requisitioning and material-asset processes for permanent plant materials, consumables, tools, and equipment. Maintain accurate records, status reporting, and system controls in SAP, comparable ERP systems, and web-based tools to support project planning, cost control, and loss prevention.
  • Lead, guide, and develop direct reports and assigned teams responsible for warehousing, requisitioning, materials management, tools, and equipment support. Set priorities, monitor performance, conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and reinforce safe, accountable, service-focused execution
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and process owner for Materials Management, Tooling and Equipment, and Warehousing programs across the business unit. Develop, standardize, and improve procedures, controls, training, and process integration to support consistent execution across MC businesses.
  • Communicate with Supply Chain leadership, site management, internal customers, and external providers regarding logistics, inventory, material availability, asset risk, and schedule impacts. Identify issues early and coordinate mitigation actions that support project deliverables and positive business outcomes.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of warehousing, materials management, tooling/equipment, inventory control, logistics, and asset lifecycle practices for construction, outage, shutdown, and field operations.
  • Ability to lead centralized requisitioning and material-asset control processes using SAP or comparable ERP and web-based inventory/materials management tools.
  • Ability to lead warehousing, requisitioning, materials management, tools, and equipment teams by setting priorities, coaching performance, and reinforcing safe, accountable execution.
  • Ability to develop, standardize, and improve procedures, controls, training, and continuous-improvement practices across businesses and third-party providers.
  • Ability to communicate schedule, logistics, inventory, and asset risk information to Supply Chain leadership, site management, internal customers, and external providers to support timely decisions.
  • Working knowledge of industrial, renewables, fossil, and nuclear field operations sufficient to support mobilization, demobilization, outages, shutdowns, and project schedules.
And If You Have These Qualifications
  • 7+ of progressive experience in warehousing, materials management, tooling/equipment, inventory control, logistics, supply chain, or field operations, including experience leading teams and using SAP or a comparable ERP system.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Management or equivalent relevant experience in related field.

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $131,600 - $197,400. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
