Job summary

Uniti seeks a Material Manager to guide day-to-day operations for multiple construction yards across the region. You will lead Material Coordinators, manage labor resources and inventory levels, and work to meet project timelines and service levels.

In partnership with Engineering and Construction leadership, you will ensure inventory accuracy, coordinate transfers between yards, and collaborate with purchasing to maintain timely stock replenishment and project momentum.

Qualifications

• College degree and 4-6 years professional level experience with 1-3 years supervisory experience; or 8+ years professional level related experience with 1-3 years supervisory experience.
• Experience managing inventory in warehouse or construction environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a workforce of hourly Materials Coordinators across multiple construction yards.
• Oversee cycle counting and ensure annual two-time warehouse counts.
• Maintain daily metrics and ensure adherence to standards.
• Coach and develop coordinators to keep facilities organized.
• Coordinate with Capital Planning and purchasing to replenish inventory.
• Monitor materials and transfer stock between yards to meet project deadlines.

About the Role:

As a Material Manager on the Kinetic engineering and OSP construction team you are responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple construction yards within a geographic region. This includes but is not limited to the management of Material Coordinators in multiple locations, labor resources, inventory levels, capacity and volume issues, maintaining and meeting required service levels of operation and the overall accuracy of recorded Uniti inventory assets. This position works closely with the Engineering and Construction leadership to ensure appropriate inventory levels are met and maintained to ensure projects stay on track for completion within the expected time frame.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage a workforce of hourly Materials Coordinators to ensure adherence to all policies and practices in assigned construction yards. Responsible for Coordinators located in TX, OH, NM, AL and MS regions
• Manage daily expectations for cycle counting to ensure entire warehouse is counted twice annually.
• Maintain daily metrics of all construction yard operations and review actual metrics to applied standards for the operations.
• Coach and develop Material Coordinators to maintain a clean and organized facility.
• Work closely with Staff Manager of Capital Planning and other related departments to provide solutions to challenges which may be cost prohibitive.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory at each location, research and resolve discrepancies and correct the inventory system.
• Work closely with purchasing teams to ensure the prompt replenishment of inventory.
• Monitor staged materials, initiate transfer of materials between yards to ensure timely completion of projects

• Experience managing inventory or materials for construction companies.
• 6 or more years of professional level experience in the warehouse or logistics fieldwith 3 or more years of supervisory experience.

College degree and 4-6 years professional level experience with 1-3 years supervisory experience; or 8+ years professional level related experience with 1-3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience required.
