The Market Finance Manager oversees financial strategy, performance management, and value-based care economics to ensure the financial sustainability of the market. This includes optimizing revenue, aligning financial goals with patient outcomes, and partnering with clinical and operational leaders to drive success in risk-sharing arrangements and population health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with value-based care, fee-for-service, and capitated models.
- Manage risk-adjusted revenue, ensuring accurate coding, documentation, and compliance.
- Oversee Work RVU productivity, patient throughput, and revenue trends.
- Analyze and optimize performance in Medicare Advantage, ACOs, and other risk-sharing arrangements.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Monitor key metrics like MLR, PMPM, and staffing levels.
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising care quality.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to align financial and patient outcome goals.
- Provide insights on patient risk stratification, physician productivity, and care model efficiency.
- Drive operational improvements in revenue cycle management and alternative payment models.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, Medicare Advantage, and other contracts.
- Manage financial risks and regulatory reporting with legal, compliance, and actuarial teams.
- Implement internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
- Lead and develop financial teams and collaborate organization-wide.
- Educate physicians and leaders on financial drivers in risk-based care.
- Demonstrate excellent service to internal teams and patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in finance, Business Administration, or related; master's preferred.
- 5+ years in financial roles within risk-based healthcare, preferably primary care or population health.
- Strong knowledge of capitation, shared savings, risk adjustment.
- Experience with healthcare financial analytics and claims data.
- Proficiency in healthcare financial systems and value-based tools.
- Leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging physicians, teams, and leaders.
- Ability to influence key performance indicators such as MLR, TCOC, and contract compliance.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
