Manager, Maintenance & Facilities

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance function at CommScope’s cable manufacturing facility, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety, and efficiency across all plant assets. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manages a cross-functional maintenance team, and plays a key role in capital projects, including the decommissioning, relocation, and installation of manufacturing equipment such as extruders, take-ups, and associated peripheral equipment.

How You'll Help Us Connect the World

  • Lead daily maintenance operations across all production lines and support areas, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
  • Manage and track maintenance KPIs to ensure compliance, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate the safe and efficient decommissioning, disconnection, and removal of obsolete or relocated equipment, ensuring all environmental and safety requirements are met.
  • Support equipment movement, rigging, reinstallation, alignment, and startup, ensuring minimal impact to production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and EHS to support layout changes, process improvements, and capital equipment installs.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment assets, including condition assessments, maintenance history, and utility connections.
  • Oversee contractor work, including mechanical and electrical services, ensuring compliance with scope, cost, and timeline expectations.
  • Manage stock room personnel when applicable, ensuring critical components are available and organized to support downtime recovery.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support facility infrastructure maintenance including HVAC, compressed air systems, electrical panels, and building systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians to support a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.
  • Support facilities task related to HVAC, building and grounds etc.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance leadership within a cable manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cable production equipment including extruders, bunchers, twinners, jacketing lines, and rewind systems.
  • Proven experience managing equipment decommissioning, relocation, and installation projects.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., Fiix, MP2, SAP).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
