Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Wisconsin to lead plant maintenance and engineering, coordinate cross-department efforts, and mentor staff. You’ll drive reliability and regulatory compliance while delivering a seamless customer experience.

You’ll oversee budgets, guide field operations, and act as SME for Spectrum tools. The role requires 5+ years in system engineering and 2+ years in management, with a bachelor’s in electronics and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • NCTI Advanced Technical Certification or SCTE Certification or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of system engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • FCC/OSHA compliance knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all plant maintenance operations to uphold cable plant integrity and ensure service quality.
  • Oversee contract labor resources to meet scope and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to field locations and regional offices.
  • Serve as SME for Spectrum tools including Node Health Report, Node Slayer and CPE telemetry.
  • Support training initiatives for maintenance technicians.
  • Prepare and monitor capital and operating budgets to control expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC standards, safety protocols, and inventory controls.
  • Maintain records for system, regional, corporate, and government requirements.
  • Develop and mentor frontline leadership teams to drive performance.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Direct all plant maintenance operations to uphold cable plant integrity and deliver consistent voice, video and data quality
  • Oversee contract labor resources, ensuring adherence to scope of work and quality standards
  • Provide technical guidance to field locations and regional offices on technologies, operational standards and staff development
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Spectrum tools including Node Health Report, Node Slayer and CPE telemetry
  • Support and drive company-wide training initiatives for maintenance technicians
  • Prepare and monitor capital and operating budgets to control expenses and optimize cash flow
  • Evaluate procedures and ensure compliance with FCC standards, inventory control and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate records for system, regional, corporate and government requirements
  • Develop and mentor frontline leadership teams to drive performance and engagement
Working Conditions
  • Majority of work performed in an office environment
  • Some travel and field work
  • Work outdoors at heights in all weather conditions and at all times
  • Work in confined, poorly ventilated spaces with heat, dust, etc. exposure
What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or equivalent
  • NCTI Advanced Technical Certification or SCTE Certification or equivalent
Experience
  • 5+ years of system engineering experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
Skills
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP stack and abstraction layers
  • Knowledge of Spectrum products, services, proofs of performance, construction practices and Headend operations
  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment including gaffs, harnesses, ladders and bucket trucks
  • Skill in making cable connections in tight spaces, measuring distances and splicing coaxial cable
  • Proficient with test equipment, computers, handheld communication devices and applications
  • Able to carry, climb and operate extension ladders (approx. 32 ft high and 90 pounds)
  • Effective at handling multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, maintaining confidentiality and solving problems under pressure
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Understanding of applicable local, state and federal regulations, OSHA rules, power distribution systems, analog transmission line theory, electronic theory, fiber optic theory, National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
  • Knowledge of HFC, advanced video and IP networks
  • Familiarity with capital and operating budget processes, Microsoft Office and FCC compliance reports

  • FCC General Radio Telephone/Radio Telegraph license or equivalent
