The Manager, Learning Design uses instructional design, cognitive psychology, and adult learning theory to determine appropriate solutions for knowledge or performance gaps. Working within specific guidelines and procedures, this role applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems, receiving objectives as assignments and determining approaches, resources, schedules, and goals.
The Manager analyzes content, designs solutions, and creates storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning, and manuals. They assess learning needs, collaborate with subject matter experts, and develop course content. Responsibilities include writing effective learning objectives, coordinating assessments, ensuring course relevance, and evaluating training effectiveness through learner satisfaction, proficiency tests, and job performance improvements. They also provide guidance to facilitators, utilize social media and collaborative tools for learning, and develop training curricula and materials tailored to specific needs.
Using consultative skills, the Manager conducts needs analyses with clients to determine the necessity and relevance of learning solutions. Decisions primarily involve resource allocation, approach, and tactical operations within their department. The role requires cross-department collaboration, conducting briefings, and maintaining contact with other managers.

Pay Range: $94,900 - $130,500 annually, with potential bonuses based on performance.
