Job summary

Lone Star College System is seeking a Manager, Leader and Culture Development to design, implement, and continually improve leadership development programs across supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders. You will partner with leaders to enhance leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational culture.

You will develop learning experiences, resources, and tools, and manage organizational development projects aligned to the System's mission and priorities, supporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive leadership development programs for supervisors, managers, directors, and emerging leaders.
  • Develops and facilitates leadership workshops, programs, and learning experiences using classroom, virtual learning, coaching, peer learning, and self-directed formats.
  • Develops learning resources, toolkits, guides, and job aids for daily supervisor application.
  • Designs and supports new supervisor onboarding, transition, and integration experiences.
  • Serves as an organizational development resource to departments and leaders across the college system.

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Manager, Leader and Culture Development is responsible fordesigning (in collaboration with the Director), implementing, and improving leadership development programs that build the capabilityof supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders across Lone Star College System. This position serves as an internal organizationaldevelopment resource, partnering with leaders to support leadershipeffectiveness, employee engagement, team performance, andorganizational culture.

The Manager develops learning experiences, leadership resources,supervisory tools, and organizational development programs thatalign with the System's mission, culture, career pathways, andstrategic priorities. This role also manages organizationaldevelopment projects and programs and provides support to leaderson leadership development, team effectiveness, and employeegrowth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive leadershipdevelopment programs for supervisors, managers, directors, andemerging leaders
  2. Develops and facilitates leadership workshops, programs, andlearning experiences utilizing classroom instruction, virtuallearning, coaching, peer learning, and self-directed learning
  3. Develops learning resources, toolkits, guides, and job aidsthat help supervisors apply learning in their daily work
  4. Designs and supports new supervisor onboarding, transition, andintegration experiences
  5. Serves as an organizational development resource to departmentsand leaders across the college system
  6. Evaluates and analyzes learning effectiveness using andrecommending solutions that improve organizationaleffectiveness
  7. Manages projects to ensure that implementation and prescribedactivities are carried out in accordance with specifiedobjectives
  8. Analyses project goals, plans schedule deadlines for projectcompletion, and develops action plans and processes for projectcompletion from inception to evaluation
  9. Develops, recommends, and implements necessary improvements andchanges to projects and business processes to ensure projectsuccess
  10. Coordinates logistics, budgets, and resource management
  11. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties asassigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructionaldesign
  • Knowledge of leadership design, facilitation, andmeasurement
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports
  • Ability to allocate accountability and task responsibility andfollow through
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, andtimelines
  • Ability to define project requirements, scoping of project,planning activities, risk and issue management, measure projectprogress, and determine corrective actions to ensure successfulproject implementation

  • Ability to work autonomously while still collaborative, andhave a high degree of judgment
  • Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication, andinterpersonal relations skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Equipment used includes; PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources,or related field
  • Experience in higher education or public sectororganizations
  • Experience developing supervisors and leaders at multipleorganizational levels
  • Experience measuring leadership development services frominception to completion and outcomes using organizationalmetrics
  • Experience designing and facilitating
  • Experience leading a team of peers or volunteers to accomplishshared work outcomes
Salary

Hiring salary range is $54,528-$62,707

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone StarCollege, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
