Saint Francis Health System is seeking an experienced laboratory leader to oversee all departmental activities, ensuring quality and cost-effective results. The role involves supervising department and shift supervisors and coordinating complex testing across the lab.
The position emphasizes effective communication, delegation, and planning, with opportunities to support the Laboratory Director and act as general supervisor when needed.
Oversees all departmental activities of the laboratory to achieve quality, cost effective results. Responsible for supervision of department and shift supervisors.
Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or in a related biological/chemical science from an accredited college or university. Master's degree or specialty certification strongly preferred.
Must have passed national certification exam as a laboratory scientist that is accredited by an approved agency.
2 years lab experience with high complexity testing.
Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations, delegation and planning. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently and to coordinate activities of others. Effective communication skills and leadership qualities. PC Skills to create documents/reports utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database computer applications.
Assumes responsibility for the operation of laboratory departments. Operates laboratory departments in a cost-effective manner. Assures quality operation of laboratory departments. Manages personnel and staffing assignments. Evaluates employee performance in a constructive manner, disciplines fairly and recommends compensation or termination to the director. Assists the Laboratory Director with laboratory operations and as needed, act as general supervisor for the laboratory.
