Job summary

Safran S.A. is seeking a proactive Inventory Control Manager to lead a team responsible for timely material flow, kitting, cycle counting, and ship/receiving processes.

You will drive KPI performance and continuous improvement across the warehouse and logistics functions. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with procurement and manufacturing, and deep experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (+4 years without degree).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, inventory control or logistics management.
• 3+ years in a managerial role; strong leadership and people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of inventory control and warehouse functions including receiving, kitting, cycle counting, put away, shipping, and outside processing.
• Develop and monitor KPIs (dock-to-stock time, cycle count accuracy, stock turns) and report to upper management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve stock accuracy, layout efficiency, and on-time fulfillment.

Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Manager, Inventory Control you'll play a pivotal part on our logistics team. The Inventory Control Manager is responsible to ensure timely flow of material and purchased parts within each function of the warehouse including receiving, kitting, cycle counting, put away, shipping, and outside processing. Accountable for inventory accuracy, kitting completion, cycle count completion and the turn‑around time for shipping, receiving and put away, as well as the reporting of these KPIs. Drives continuous improvement in the department that assists in performance improvement. Provides leadership to Supervisors and employees across these functional areas. Assist in other projects as assigned.

This position contributes to our vision by:

Inventory Control & Strategy

• System Management: Maintain 99% or higher inventory accuracy within the ERP platform.
• Auditing: Ensure compliance with Safran Standards of cycle count accuracy and completeness. Design and execute a continuous cycle-counting program and lead annual physical inventory audits.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate root causes of stock discrepancies, overages, and shortages, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Optimization: Analyze supply levels and warehouse layouts to improve picking efficiency and storage density.

Supply Chain & Operations

• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and vendors to adjust minimum/maximum stock levels and resolve backorders.
• Order Fulfillment: Ensure inbound/outbound shipments align with carrier deadlines and meet customer needs.
• Reporting: Generate daily and weekly reports on inventory valuation, stock turns, and slow-moving items for upper management.
• Daily Operations: Perform daily management of logistics functions, including performance tracking in support of internal and external customer requirements. Develop and document work procedures, prepare work schedules, and ensure staffing levels are adequate to support manufacturing and planning requests.

Leadership & Team Management

• Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and manage a team of inventory control specialists and warehouse associates.
• Performance Tracking: Set operational KPIs (e.g., dock-to-stock time, order accuracy) and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Align stockroom processes in partnership with continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing. Develop and implement processes and improvements within the Logistics department which will improve overall performance, stockroom accuracy and satisfy manufacturing / repairs demand. This includes processes such as:
  • o Parts receiving
  • o Parts put away
  • o Manufacturing Order picking
  • o Customer Order picking
  • o Furnished Material/Distribution/Transfer picking
  • o Stock management including cycle counting
  • o Packing & shipping
  • o Shop floor consumables management
  • o Vendor Managed Inventory
• Planning & Communication: Perform staffing level analysis and implementation plans that provide adequate support for manufacturing, repairs and shipping needs.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (+4 years without degree)

Experience

• 5 or more years of progressive experience in warehouse and inventory control or logistics management
• 3 or more years of experience in a Managerial role
• Experience analyzing inventory and making adjustments to reduce cash while maintaining high levels of customer service

Computer Skill

• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Advanced proficiency with WMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

Other Skills

• Demonstrated expert-level knowledge of materials requirements planning system (MRP/ERP) requirements, purchase order and manufacturing order process, and inventory management practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail.
• Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Extensive experience with Manufacturing Processes.
• Must be organized and possess time management skills as well as the reactivity to adapt to priority changes.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and lead projects required.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization, both oral and written as well as strong presentation skills required.
