This individual is expected to demonstrate leadership, develop current talent, on-board employees into their respective positions, recruit for future talent and be involved in the day to day operation of the Internal Sales Desk. This position is specifically focused within the Independent Channel for annuity distribution. **What you will do*** Oversee staff in areas related to: Symetra compliance, policies and procedures, FINRA, state insurance and other regulatory entities as required.* Provide staff with scheduled and customized coaching via biweekly call reviews and monthly one on one meetings.* Provide direction and dissemination of how daily activity translates into the overall objectives of sales and Symetra as a whole. Address concerns and any issues that would prohibit said objectives from being met.* Conduct training and development sessions as needed in line with key initiatives such as product launches, new firm/bank on-boarding and technology implementation. Demonstrate knowledge of competitive landscape to the extent of being able to be a resource, train and coach accordingly.* Monitor, escalate and act on performance management issues and provide a leadership role in delivering recognition programs.* Act as a point of contact for business exceptions.* Serve as a subject matter expert as the opportunity and need arises with other areas of the organization. This can be both on a project scale as well as an “as needed” basis.* Coordinate and execute on various marketing initiatives, calling campaigns and product launches that require multiple stakeholders to work together.* Provide regular trend analysis on call volume, trends on types of calls received, and external feedback.* Escalate any items e.g. technology, product issues etc. that in anyway impede the progress of the sales process and/or put Symetra at risk; reputational or otherwise.* Act as a resource and champion for sales by moving ideas forward.* Consistently build, coach and monitor individual career paths of your direct reports.* Actively participate in hiring new team members. Network and meet with internal and external candidates in order to promote career opportunities within Symetra.* Interview candidates for both Internal Wholesaler and Sales Support Specialist positions in order to make hiring recommendations.**What we offer you**We don’t take a “one-size-fits-all” approach when it comes to our employees.
