Job summary

Manager, Indirect Purchasing

Full-Time Regular Manager Mt. Olive, NJ, US

Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $133,000.00 Annually

SUMMARY:

The Manager, Indirect Purchasing, is responsible for developing and executing strategy for all indirect spend categories, ensuring supplier performance, risk mitigation, and measurable cost savings and value to the business. They are a strategic procurement partner to departments including Finance, IT, HR, Facilities, Operations, Marketing and other corporate functions by leading sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management for indirect spend. The role is expected to move the organization beyond transactional purchasing toward a disciplined, strategic approach to indirect spend management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and implement a comprehensive indirect procurement strategy aligned with corporate goals
• Establish category management frameworks across key spend areas (MRO, Facilities, I.T., logistics, other)
• Analyze company spend to identify savings, consolidation, sourcing and supplier optimization opportunities.
• Partner with functional leaders to understand business requirements, forecast purchasing needs and develop procurement strategies.
• Lead RFIs, RFQs and RFPs for significant indirect purchases and services.
• Lead supplier negotiations involving pricing, commercial terms, service levels and other business requirements.
• Partner with Legal and functional stakeholders in the negotiation, execution and management of supplier agreements.
• Develop and maintain preferred supplier strategies and reduce unnecessary supplier fragmentation.
• Establish competitive bidding and supplier-selection processes for significant expenditures.
• Develop business cases and total-cost-of-ownership analyses to support sourcing recommendations.
• Establish annual procurement savings and value-creation objectives and provide regular reporting against results.
• Identify cost avoidance, cost reduction, demand management and process-efficiency opportunities.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and conduct periodic business reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Monitor supplier financial, operational, compliance and business-continuity risks.
• Ensure appropriate procurement controls, authorization processes and competitive bidding requirements are followed.
• Partner with Finance to improve spend visibility, budgeting and procurement reporting.
• Develop procurement dashboards addressing spend, savings, supplier concentration, contract coverage and procurement activity.
• Oversee supplier onboarding and vendor governance processes.
• Establish and maintain contract and renewal management processes to reduce financial and operational risk.
• Develop and continuously improve indirect purchasing policies, procedures and workflows.
• Educate managers and employees regarding procurement policies and appropriate purchasing practices.
• Support annual budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage and develop Indirect Purchasing Coordinator(s), Buyer(s) or other procurement staff, as applicable.
• Collaborate with global or regional procurement teams to leverage purchasing scale and global supplier relationships where appropriate.
• Perform other strategic indirect procurement initiatives as assigned.
• Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001
• Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities for ISO 9001 process flows

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business,Financeor related discipline required/preferredOR6–8+ years of progressive procurement,sourcingor supply-chain experience, including meaningful experience with indirect procurement.
• 2+ years ofcategory-management,project-leadershipand people-management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading competitive sourcing events and supplier negotiations.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements and partnering with Legal on contracts.
• Demonstrated record of achieving measurable procurement savings and cost avoidance.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, categorymanagementandtotal-cost-of-ownership principles.
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/procurement-systemproficiency.

Preferred:

• MBA or advanced degreea plus.
• Experience with global suppliers or global procurementorganizationsa plus
