Job summary

Archway in Romeoville, IL seeks an experienced facilities and operations leader to manage Receiving/Stocking, Production, Shipping and Inventory Control. You will drive cost efficiency, planning, scheduling and process improvements while coaching and directing plant Supervisors.

This role partners with Inventory Control, Client Services and Industrial Engineering to optimize workflow, ensure safety per MNOSHA/OSHA and deliver accurate reporting to management.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; Four-year degree preferred.
  • 7+ years relevant operations, warehouse, distribution or pick/pack experience.
  • 4+ years manufacturing/warehouse supervision.
  • Evidence of supervisory/leadership with coaching and process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of WMS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • History of cross-departmental collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Experience with MNOSHA/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cost-efficient use of resources and ongoing process improvement (planning, scheduling, evaluation).
  • Lead plant Supervisors and staff; participate in budgeting and cost-control.
  • Oversee labor planning and scheduling; direct workflow for productivity, turn-time, quality and safety.
  • Manage projects for new client integrations and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control to ensure proper inventory control.
  • Partner with Client Services on service and company objectives.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis for management.
  • Work with Industrial Engineer on costing models, workflow and scheduling analysis.
  • Ensure ISO processes are up-to-date and safety compliance is maintained.

Job description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To manage all facility operations to ensure company objectives are achieved. Develop, oversee, direct and have financial accountability for the work activities of plant personnel, including Receiving/Stocking, Production, Shipping and Inventory Control for assigned clients.

MAJOR AREAS OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Ensure cost-efficient use of resources and on-going process improvement including planning, scheduling and evaluation;
  • Perform management functions and provide coaching and direction to plant Supervisors and staff; Participate in budgeting process and implement cost-control measures;
  • Responsible for labor planning and scheduling; Direct work flow to meet plant productivity, turn-time, quality and safety standards;
  • Project management for new client integrations; Leads plant in continuous improvement Ensure proper training of all plant staff;
  • Work directly with Inventory Control Manager to ensure proper control of all client and company inventory;
  • Partner with Client Services to develop relationships and ensure service and company objectives are achieved;
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis for Archway management team;
  • Partner with Industrial Engineer to develop costing models, workflow and scheduling analysis and process improvements;
  • Ensuring ISO processes are up to date and continuous improvement of processes is taking place;
  • Compliance with MNOSHA and OSHA standards and participate in safety committee.
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, (EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS) REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma required; Four-year degree preferred
  • 7+ years relevant operations, warehouse, distribution or pick/pack and ship experience required;
  • 4+ years of manufacturing/warehouse supervision
  • Evidence of previous significant supervisory and leadership expertise with track record of initiative, coaching, performance management and process improvement;
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) required;
  • Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills in both interpersonal and team settings;
  • Excellent organizational abilities;
  • Ability to evaluate and manage multiple priorities;
  • Ability to make decisions and excel in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment;
  • History of successful innovation including development, proposal and implementation of ideas to improve overall facility operations;
  • Demonstrated history of effective cross-departmental partnership to achieve common goals for company and clients;
  • Experience managing capacity in high paced and high turn environment
  • Ability to conduct effective team meetings
  • Experience conducting efficiency studies and lean process improvements
  • Knowledge of plant safety and security requirements inclusive of MNOSHA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
Education

High School or better.

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field.

Experience

4 years: manufacturing/warehouse supervision

7 years: relevant operations, warehouse, distribution or pick/pack and ship experience required
