Job summary

Schindler Group in Clinton, NC seeks an experienced Manager of Human Resources (Escalators) to serve as the senior HR partner for the Escalator organization, spanning Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering.

You will partner with leadership, lead HR plans, drive leadership capability and culture, and manage local HR processes while aligning with the central People Services team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HRM, Business, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5 years’ HR experience with previous team leadership; 8–10 years preferred.
  • Customer and results orientation.
  • Influencing and problem-solving skills to balance support and challenge.
  • Pragmatic with senior management in a changing environment; focus on People Strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Senior HR partner to the Escalator organization, including Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Quality, Procurement, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Lead HR plans and strategies to meet Supply Chain needs.
  • Improve leadership capability and culture within the Supply Chain.
  • Workforce planning, job analysis, compensation delivery, career counseling, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Manage local HR processes and coordinate with People Services central team.
  • Lead and drive policies, processes, tools, and systems.
  • Collaborate with HR peers to drive HR processes and strategy.
  • Provide input to organizational development and productivity improvement.
  • Counsel salaried and hourly workforce.
  • Manage employee relations issues with Legal and Compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain internal systems with HRIS.

Your main responsibilities

This role serves as the senior HR partner to the Escalator organization, inclusive of Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Quality, Procurement, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing Engineering. In addition to establishing partnerships with leadership and employees, this role will serve as the location HR lead.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive Human Resources objectives in partnership with the Supply Chain Leadership team
  • Lead the implementation and execution of HR plans and strategies to meet Supply Chain needs
  • Focus on concrete actions to impact Leadership capability and Culture effectiveness, ensuring a best in class Supply Chain function
  • Conduct workforce planning, job analysis, compensation delivery, career counseling, performance management, and succession planning
  • Manage local operational HR processes, and partner with People Services central team to ensure optimal division of duties
  • Lead and drive topics focusing on establishing and/or implementing policies, processes, tools, and systems
  • Work closely with peers across the HR organization, inclusive of HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Talent COE’s, to drive various HR processes and contribute to the overall HR strategy
  • Provide pertinent input to organizational development and employee productivity improvement.
  • Provide counsel to all levels of the salaried and hourly workforce
  • Manage employee relations issues, inclusive of complex investigations, partnering with Legal and Compliance departments
  • Monitor and maintain internal systems and data in partnership with HRIS team
What you bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field required. A Master's degree in Human Resource Management or Business is preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in Human Resources roles with previous experience leading a team required; 8-10 years HR experience preferred. Experience in the machinery industry or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate Customer and Results Orientation
  • Effective influencing and problem-solving skills, supporting the needed balance between supporting and challenging the business
  • A practical style with a focus on People Strategies and HR operations
  • Pragmatic work experience with the Senior Management team in a rapidly changing and complex work environment is preferred with an eye toward simplification and challenging the status quo
