Bel Fuse Inc. seeks an experienced Human Resources leader to guide HR strategy and programs supporting operations and Lean manufacturing practices. You will partner with site leadership to align employee needs with business goals while maintaining compliance with Federal and State laws.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in business, HR, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in HR management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Job description

Primary Objective of Position

Provide professional and ethical leadership in Human Resources to ensure growth and achieve departmental goals in support of the Operations plan, Company goals and AS9100 and Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Partners with site leadership to balance the needs of the business with employees’ interests.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and manage department goals, objectives, and systems. Develop, recommend, implement and administer HR plan and procedures. Understand, instruct and handout handbook of policies and procedures. E
  • Ensure that Company employment, safety, employee relations, personnel and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with Federal and State labor laws, maintain necessary files, department records and reports.
  • Evaluate HR reports, decisions and results relative to Operations and business goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvement in efficiency and services.
  • Plan, organize and control HR activities.
  • Work with safety leader to manage the administration of employee safety, health and security, and benefit programs, including claims resolution and change reporting in conjunction with Accounting Department.
  • Participate in staff meetings and serve as management liaison on committees, such as the employee club and United Way committee.
  • Manage, update and implement annual compensation programs.
  • Revise job descriptions as needed, conduct annual salary surveys and benefit reviews, analyze total compensation, monitor performance evaluation process and career path/development program and revise as needed.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel, students and temporary employees.
Authorities and Responsibilities:
  • Manage new employee orientation process, employee relations counseling and outsourcing of functions such as drug testing and background checks.
  • Assist with required AAP/EEO documents and drive equal employment opportunity outreach efforts.
  • Keep records and compile statistical reports concerning recruitment activities, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and performance appraisals, utilizing knowledge of job requirements, valid selection process, and legislation concerning equal employment practices.
  • Manage training needs assessment, matrix and training development and documentation, in accordance with AS9100 methodologies. Work with supervisors to assess needs and trainings on a regular basis.
  • Investigates any ethics or harassment claims and documents for compliance with the Company’s Code of Ethics guidelines. Conducts annual ethics and harassment prevention employee training.
  • Work with managers on employee development and succession planning discussions to support the Talent Organization Review process. Coaches managers in performance management.
  • Directs the work and provides mentoring to HR staff.
  • Oversee payroll function and ensure process is documented and in accordance with established controls.

Oversee office and facility management functions including ordering supplies, manage door access system, U.S. mail and monitor facility vendors (Shredding, Cleaning, Music, etc)

  • Establish objectives and procedures governing assigned activities. Review Operations’ objectives and annual objectives with immediate subordinates. Review and approve the implementation of departmental and oversight area plans that support the Operations Master Plan. Maintain appropriate communications within area of responsibility. Keep employees informed as to company/departments’ plans and progress.
  • Select, maintain and review the performance of qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and recommend compensation for them. Identify training needs, initiate development of subordinates, and recommend effective personnel action.
  • Supervise assigned personnel; exercise the usual authority of a supervisor in relation to hiring, training, performance management, time keeping, attendance tracking, salary increases, promotions, career development and terminations.
  • Promote and implement the Company’s Code of Ethics, affirmative action program, Communication Plan, along with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Manages charitable giving program, community outreach and partnerships.Review and endorse proposals received from direct reports. Submit or approve proposals in accordance with approval authorization procedure.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Four-year degree in business, HR, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in HR management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications

PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
