Providence Community Health Centers in Warwick, RI seeks a Manager of Health Information to lead the HIM department, ensuring accurate, complete patient records to support care, billing, and quality improvement while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws.
This role manages staff, policies, scanning, releases of information, and liaison with vendors, ensuring secure storage of records in paper and electronic formats and continuous process improvements.
Under the supervision and direction of the Risk and HIPAA Privacy Officer, the Manager of Health Information is responsible for the management of the Health Information Management (HIM) department operations, its functions and activities (i.e., scanning, audits, record retention and destruction, release of information, etc.), implementing effective policies and procedures, and monitoring of HIM activities to assure that all processes are value added and completed in an error-free, quality fashion. In addition, this role is responsible for managing and securing patient records in compliance with Rhode Island State and federal law for paper and electronic storage of patient information. The Manager, Health Information ensures that patient records are accurate and complete to facilitate patient care, billing, and quality improvement.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a healthcare organization, to include demonstrated leadership, preferably in a patient-centered or community health center environment. Familiarity with operational, financial, quality improvement and privacy regulations is a must.
