Job summary

George's Inc. Batesville, AR seeks a Hatchery Manager to lead hatchery operations, including egg handling, incubation, hatching, vaccination, packing and shipping of chicks.

You will plan and implement policies to ensure profitable operation and compliance with NCC Animal Guidelines and all applicable laws. You will supervise staff, manage weekly hatch schedules, monitor equipment, control budgets, and coordinate with breeders and service providers to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, Management or related field with 4+ years hatchery experience.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage hatchery activities: egg pick-up, incubation, hatching, grading, vaccination, preparation and shipping of chicks.
• Maintain and coordinate facility and equipment upkeep and repairs.
• Oversee chick care, packing and transfer operations; maintain hatchery sanitation and safety policies.
• Monitor hatch schedules and coordinate with the processing plant to ensure proper bird numbers.
• Communicate with breeders and service providers to meet egg and chick production needs.

This position will direct strategic operational plans in hatching eggs and chick production.
