Job summary

Spheros is seeking an experienced Group Reporting professional to lead IFRS consolidated financial statements, policy updates, and internal controls. You will collaborate with international subsidiaries and coordinate external audits as a trusted partner for local accounting teams.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting or auditing, IFRS expertise, and fluency in English and German. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with LucaNet or SAP BFC are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree from a business school or MBA.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or auditing.
• Strong audit background, ideally gained at a Big 4 or another reputable audit firm.
• Proven experience with IFRS, through audit engagements or preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Experience with group reporting or exposure to consolidation processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of IFRS consolidated financial statements, disclosure notes, and management reports.
• Support the monthly and annual consolidation process, including data validation and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with international subsidiaries to ensure timely reporting package submissions.
• Maintain and update Group Accounting Policies and the Group Accounting Manual.
• Drive the assessment and implementation of new or revised IFRS standards.
• Design and maintain the Group internal control framework.
• Act as a trusted business partner for local accounting teams on IFRS and accounting policy matters.
• Coordinate year-end group audit and manage related deliverables.
• Work with Group Controlling and subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting treatment.

Your Responsibilities

Group Reporting & Consolidation

• Lead the preparation of IFRS consolidated financial statements, disclosure notes, and management reports.
• Support the monthly and annual consolidation process, including data validation, reconciliations, and consolidation adjustments.
• Collaborate closely with international subsidiaries to ensure timely and accurate reporting package submissions.

IFRS & Accounting Policies

• Maintain and update Group Accounting Policies and the Group Accounting Manual.
• Drive the assessment and implementation of new or revised IFRS standards.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex topics such as revenue recognition, IFRS 16, IFRS 18, impairment testing, and PPA.

Internal control

• Design and Maintain the Group internal control framework.
• Ensure the good implementation of the internal control rules within the Group.
• Monitor action plans and promote continuous improvement.

Subsidiary Support & Communication

• Act as a trusted business partner for local accounting teams regarding IFRS and accounting policy matters.
• Support the development of training materials and contribute to IFRS workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Audit & External Interfaces

• Serve as a key contact for external auditors, preparing required documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
• Coordinate the year-end group audit and manage related deliverables.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Group Controlling, operational networks and subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting treatment across the group and improve the internal control framework.

Your Profile

• Degree from a business school or MBA, ideally with a focus on finance, accounting, or auditing.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or auditing.
• Strong audit background, ideally gained at a Big 4 or another reputable audit firm.
• Proven experience with IFRS, either through audit engagements or preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Experience with group reporting or exposure to consolidation processes (lead responsibility not required).
• Strong technical understanding of IFRS with the motivation to further deepen your expertise.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with consolidation tools (e.g., LucaNet, SAP BFC) is an advantage
• Business-fluent German and English skills
