Since 2010, bi3 has awarded more than $86 million to TriHealth and community-based organizations to fund innovative ideas to transform health and improve health equity. bi3 leverages its strategic partnership with TriHealth and partners with community-based organizations to fuel new solutions to deep-seated community health issues. bi3 envisions a day when every person has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible — a day when a person's health can no longer be predicted by race, ethnicity, ability or zip code. bi3 is a philanthropic initiative created by Bethesda Inc. to drive innovation in healthcare and improve community health outcomes.

bi3 is well-positioned to grow as a health convener, advocate, ally, thought partner, relationship builder and co-designer of health initiatives that incorporate the voices of those with lived experience with an eye to health equity. Our Trust-Based Philanthropy approach, which requires time and resources, is key to shifting the power dynamic between funder and grantee to achieve success and more significant impact/return on our investments.
