Job Description

This position will support and advance the company’s public policy and government relations objectives. This individual will play a critical role in managing the processes and activities associated with federal government affairs, including policy analysis, legislative tracking, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong familiarity with the U.S. legislative and executive branches and a deep understanding of energy policy—especially nuclear energy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the government relations team in organizing and executing congressional and executive branch engagement, including compiling policy briefings, talking points, and other preparation materials.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, briefings, events, and travel related to government relations on behalf of X-energy.
  • Represent X-energy at relevant industry, government, and stakeholder events to promote the company’s mission and priorities.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and policy developments that impact X-energy’s business objectives.
  • Develop policy summaries and provide strategic recommendations based on the potential impact of government actions.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of a company Political Action Committee (PAC), including strategy development, solicitation efforts, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and build strong working relationships with key federal stakeholders, including members of Congress, White House staff, and officials at the Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Collaborate across internal teams to align government relations efforts with X-energy’s business strategy and communications priorities.
  • Work with the business development team to foster new business opportunities.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related technical field.
  • Typically, ten years of professional experience, including Capitol Hill or equivalent federal government experience.
  • Significant experience engaging with Congress, White House, and DOE and DoD on energy-related issues.
  • Deep understanding of federal policymaking processes, energy policy, and funding processes and opportunities, with specialized expertise in nuclear energy.
  • Familiarity with the federal budget, legislative, and regulatory processes and landscape impacting the energy sector.
  • Experience building and maintaining high-level relationships with federal officials and stakeholders and other companies.

Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville MD

Work Site Expectations: at least 3 days per week in office

Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed

Hours: standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET Mon-Fri

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$105,375- $175,675
