Qualifications

  • Coordinates with the Relocation Coordinator regarding turnover of Garden Apartments and use of apartments and communal areas.
  • Coordinates with IL Director and Activities staff to ensure guest speakers are contacted and thanked within 48–72 hours.
  • Reviews GA monthly statements and reports errors to the billing coordinator.

The purpose of this position is to plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate the programs delivered to residents in the IL areas of The Oaks of LAAdult Residential Community.This also involves coordination with volunteer activities.It also involves assuring the safety, security and well-being of its residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates with The Independent Living Director to continuously review and evaluate existing and upcoming resident programs offered at the Garden Apartments, focusing on needs being met, effectiveness, age and culture appropriateness, and attendance for Garden Apartment residents.
  • Maintains and coordinates a volunteer resource pool for the Garden Apartments.
  • Coordinates with the Relocation Coordinator as it pertains to the orderly turnover of Garden Apartments and assumes responsibility for the use of the apartments, surrounding grounds and communal areas.
  • Coordinates with IL Director and Activities personnel to ensure that all guest speakers are contacted in advance, confirming attendance for scheduled programs and follow-up within 48–72 hours with a handwritten thank-you note.
  • Reviews GA monthly statements and reports errors to the billing coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess ability to communicate tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, staff, and public.
  • Demonstrates respect and willingness to work as a team to provide quality care/servicesto residents.
  • Is willing to work some holidays and weekends as necessary.
  • Must be flexible regarding hours and duties to be performed.
  • Must be able to read, write, follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
  • Must be able to always perform duties with consideration to residents’ rights and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care of residents and in handling their health information.
