Job description

The Role

As a Manager, Forward‑Deployed Engineer at Trinity Life Sciences, you are embedded directly inside biopharma and commercial Life Sciences teams to absorb their hardest problems and build working solutions quickly. You will move from ambiguous business challenge to running prototype in days, not quarters. You will demo, iterate live with clients, and refine the solution. You will write real code, own real deployments, and be accountable for real outcomes. For example, within a week you might convert a messy CRM export into a live sales‑rep‑facing AI assistant that surfaces next‑best‑action recommendations, or you might build a RAG pipeline over 10 years of clinical trial data so a market access team can answer payer questions in seconds instead of days.

In addition you will mentor and coach a group of one to two engineers, helping them ramp up faster, navigate client complexity, and grow into the role. You lead by doing and make the people around you sharper.

What You'll Do
  • Embed with clients at top biopharma and life sciences organizations: sit with their commercial, medical affairs, and data teams to surface unmet needs and translate them into engineered solutions.
  • Prototype at speed: stand up GenAI‑powered applications, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and data integrations fast enough to amaze a client within two weeks of receiving their data.
  • Own delivery end‑to‑end: from the first whiteboard session through production‑ready code, demo, feedback loop, and handoff to product.
  • Flex between missions: move between active client engagements and product sprints as priorities shift.
  • Make the model and our products better: document patterns, share playbooks with the cohort, and push field learnings back into the product, including reusable components.
Team Development
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior FDEs: pair on hard problems, review their work, and give direct, useful feedback.
  • Help new FDEs ramp up through the onboarding path: accelerate their time to product fluency and first live pod contribution.
  • Serve as a technical sounding board when junior FDEs are stuck—encouraging questions that guide them to solutions.
  • Model the culture: demonstrate client engagement, clean iteration, and knowledge sharing.
Who You Are
  • Thrives under compressed timelines, energized by real deadlines.
  • Invests time to truly understand client needs before building.
  • Iterates freely, discarding ineffective ideas without drama, treating client feedback as signal.
  • Collaborates by default, pulling in teammates, asking for help early, and sharing credit.
  • Learns fast in unfamiliar domains, having cracked new industries, stacks, or problem spaces before.
  • Mentors and coaches engineers with patience and generosity; growing others is a core contribution.
What You'll Bring
  • 6–9 years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production‑quality systems.
  • Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams, with people growing under your watch.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or Node.js/React.js; fluency with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Hands‑on experience building or integrating GenAI systems: LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic architectures, or multimodal pipelines.
  • Comfort operating in client‑facing environments; has presented to non‑technical stakeholders and navigated feedback.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or Biotech strongly preferred; understands the commercial model and stakeholder goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
What Makes This Unusual
  • You will be a senior FDE in our incoming cohort, shaping team culture and practices.
  • You will work in pods, never alone on a client; a Solution Lead and domain SME are always present.
  • You will be onboarded intentionally: product fluency first, shadowing, then leading, enabling a quick ramp‑up.
  • Your work feeds directly into our products; the best field builds become product features that shape the life sciences industry.
