Job summary

Partner Company in the United States is seeking a Manager of Financial & Payment Operations to lead end-to-end payment processing, settlements, and money movement for healthcare products. You will drive automation, improve control, and create scalable workflows while partnering with Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, and external providers.

You will own collections operations, vendor management, and performance dashboards, guiding initiatives from problem identification to implementation

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in payments operations, financial operations, fintech, banking, payments infrastructure, or a closely related field.
  • Deep knowledge of ACH, card payments, settlements, reconciliation, ledgering, money movement, and transaction lifecycle management.
  • Experience owning and scaling payment operations in high-volume environments with reconciliation and financial controls.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations and translating complex workflows into scalable processes.
  • Proven experience partnering across Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and external providers.
  • Experience managing relationships with BPOs, payment processors, sponsor banks, gateways, and other financial service vendors.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with KPI dashboards and data-driven recommendations.
  • Track record of improving payment accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational lifecycle of payment processing across multiple healthcare payment products, including execution, settlements, returns, exceptions, reconciliation, and money movement.
  • Develop and improve payment operations processes to increase scalability, automation, accuracy, efficiency, and control.
  • Establish and manage collections operations, including workflows, segmentation, escalation processes, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with BPOs responsible for collections to ensure service quality and performance.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with payment processors, banks, collections providers, and other financial partners.
  • Define SLAs, monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting covering payment performance and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and leadership on infrastructure improvements.
  • Support modernization projects, audits, regulatory readiness, and new launches.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and strengthen controls.
  • Provide operational leadership on complex payment issues and drive improvements.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Financial & Payment Operations based in the United States.

This role will lead the operational execution of a complex healthcare payments ecosystem spanning payment processing, settlements, reconciliation, collections, and money movement.
You will play a central role in modernizing payment infrastructure and building scalable operational processes that support continued growth.
The position combines payments expertise, operational leadership, analytics, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will work closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and external financial partners.
A key focus will be improving payment accuracy, automating manual workflows, strengthening controls, and resolving operational exceptions.
You will also establish performance metrics and reporting that provide clear visibility into payment and collections operations.
This is an opportunity to shape the operating foundation of a growing healthcare payments environment while working directly with senior leadership.

  • Own the operational lifecycle of payment processing across multiple healthcare payment products, including payment execution, settlements, returns, exceptions, reconciliation, reporting, and end-to-end money movement.
  • Develop and improve payment operations processes to increase scalability, automation, accuracy, efficiency, and operational control.
  • Establish and manage collections operations, including workflows, customer segmentation, escalation processes, vendor coordination, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with business process outsourcing (BPO) providers responsible for collections execution to ensure service quality and operational performance.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with payment processors, banks, collections providers, and other financial service partners.
  • Define service-level agreements, monitor vendor performance, resolve operational issues, and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Develop operational dashboards and reporting covering payment performance, reconciliation accuracy, collections effectiveness, and other critical KPIs.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and executive leadership on payment infrastructure improvements and operational initiatives.
  • Support modernization projects, new operational launches, audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, strengthen financial controls, improve reconciliation, and create more reliable end-to-end payment workflows.
  • Provide operational leadership on complex payment issues and drive measurable improvements through structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in payments operations, financial operations, fintech, banking, payments infrastructure, or a closely related field.
  • Deep knowledge of ACH, card payments, settlements, reconciliation, ledgering, money movement, and transaction lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and scaling payment operations in high-volume environments, including reconciliation, payment exceptions, refunds, reversals, financial controls, and operational risk management.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations and the ability to translate complex workflows into scalable, efficient processes.
  • Proven experience partnering across Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Operations, and external payment providers.
  • Experience managing relationships with BPOs, payment processors, sponsor banks, gateways, and other financial service vendors.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience developing KPIs, dashboards, operational reporting, and data-driven recommendations.
  • A track record of improving payment accuracy, resolving reconciliation challenges, strengthening controls, and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to align teams around complex operational priorities.
  • Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset when managing critical financial operations.
  • Ability to manage complexity, balance competing priorities, and drive initiatives from problem identification through implementation.
  • Experience in healthcare payments or another regulated financial environment is valuable.
