External job description:
On the Accounts Payable team within Finance Operations (FinOps), you will find yourself working with multi-talented and determined people committed to driving financial improvement, scalability, and process excellence. To support the growth of businesses at Amazon, this candidate must possess a good passion for accountability, setting high standards, raising the bar, and driving results through constant focus on improving existing and future state operations, systems, and processes. The candidate will be able to think big to create a long-term plan, but have good tactical skills to drive day-to-day implementation. They will be able to learn quickly and be willing to experiment with new ideas.
This role on the Accounts Payable team will handle a team of 40+ and drive operations to achieving key goals, performing deep dive and contribute to process improvements. The role will use complex problem-solving skills, manage multiple high visibility priorities, and maintain a keen attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Handing Account Payable-finance operations with team size of 40+
  2. Performing deep dive and contribute to process improvements
  3. Driving operation to achieve key goals
  4. Representing ops in leadership calls
  5. Coordinating with multiple teams- Tech, product and Business Partnering teams
  6. Experience in managing process and operational escalations
  7. Drive resolution of critical issues for vendors as well as support processes/systems deep dives to ensure root cause analysis and correction resulting in improved customer experience.
  8. Negotiate efficient and reliable processes and policies across partner teams to systematically eliminate dependencies and defects.
  9. Liaise with Business Partnering teams & Businesses to set near, medium, and long-term operational goals for improvements.
  10. Identifying and evaluating financial and operational risks and opportunities both internal to Finance Operations and to the business, driving ad-hoc projects as required.
  11. Work cross-organizationally and functionally to identify key opportunities in process, technical, and human interfaces and developing and implementing plans to capitalize on those opportunities and measure and monitor progress and impacts.
Basic Qualifications:
  1. 12+ years of overall experience in corporate world
  2. Experience using data to influence business decisions
  3. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse talent within a team, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues
  4. Managerial skills to handle problems and crisis in a confident and decisive manner.
  5. Ability to take responsibility for making difficult decisions, taking calculated risks and experimenting with new approaches
  6. Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines
  7. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  8. Experience as a manager of managers
  9. 8+ years of people managing experience
  10. 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  11. 6+ years of Account Payable experience
  12. 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  13. 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  14. 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  15. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business, or Master’s degree in accounting or finance
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  2. 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  3. MBA, or CPA
  4. Knowledge of Advanced Excel, SQL/ETL.
  5. Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  6. Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
