Manager, Finance Management, Corporate AP

Amazon Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS) plays a key role in the company’s mission to be Earth’s most customer-centric company. FGBS includes finance functions like Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Tax, as well as other functions like Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF), Investor Relations, and Benchmarking. As the company continues to scale, we are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Manager to lead and further develop the organization, at the Costa Rica Center.
This position will be responsible for Corporate Accounts Payable (AP) Operations including: hiring, training, and employee development; managing group workload and establishing priorities; ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed; managing annual performance targets; creating and monitoring appropriate performance metrics. This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex outstanding issues with internal and external business partners. Overall responsible for Audit compliance and Business controls within the AP space.

Key job responsibilities
· Lead a team across multiple AP operations’ teams supported.
· Lead the strategic direction of the AP teams based on internal and industry knowledge.
· Responsible for developing and communicating team or department vision and goals for AP.
· Work on onboarding new businesses and support geographic expansions for the suite of services provided by Finance Operation Services.
· Partner with Finance Business Services teams to deliver on shared goals and projects in support of the relevant business teams.
· Participate in monthly Operations/Project reviews with leadership in support of services being provided for.
· Coordinate with PMO and Finance Technology teams to ensure projects have appropriate requirements, sign-off and support.
· Partner closely with the Technology teams to identify post business launch enhancements necessary for Finance Operations Services to scale with the business initiative.
· Drive continuous improvement in the process which support through close partnership with the Finance Operational Excellence team.
· Developing, modifying and maintaining the operational and design effectiveness of internal controls.
· Lead cross functional systems and process improvement initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ years of overall experience in corporate world
- English and Portuguese language skills.
- Experience with Oracle Financials and Business Intelligence, SAP and other ERPs.
- Proven experience with complex problem solving using Lean / Six Sigma techniques
- 8+ years of people managing experience
- 6+ years of Account Payable experience
- 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting roles
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs)
- Experience creating process improvements with automation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications (esp. MS Excel, Word) at an advanced level
- Experience in operational excellence using six sigma methodologies
- Proven Project & Operations Management Skills.
- Statistical Analysis Experience, with Big Data.
