Job summary

ASM International seeks a Manager, Field Service Leader for the Samsung account in Texas to lead a high-performing field service team across customer sites. You will serve as the primary escalation point for complex equipment issues, drive installations, qualifications, maintenance, upgrades, and recovery activities, and collaborate with engineering and product support to resolve challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering/physics/materials science or related technical field.
  • 16+ years of relevant experience; or 12+ with Master's; or 8+ with PhD.
  • At least 1+ years in people leadership or equivalent field leadership.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in English and Korean.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment in fab or capital equipment environments.
  • Proven experience leading customer escalations and structured troubleshooting.

  • Lead and develop a team of Field Service Engineers supporting Samsung across Texas sites.
  • Serve as primary escalation lead for complex equipment and operational issues.
  • Drive installations, qualifications, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and recovery activities.
  • Partner with customers, engineering, product support, and business units to resolve technical challenges and improve tool performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, safety, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze service and tool performance data to identify trends and prevent repeat failures.
  • Support account strategy through capacity planning, resource readiness, technology adoption, and long-term customer support planning.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, performance management and succession planning.

This role provides technical leadership, customer engagement, and people management while ensuring the successful execution of service activities across the account.
