Job summary

Southwest Human Development in Phoenix, Arizona, seeks a Family Services Manager to lead EHS/Head Start teams, plan and implement program services, and coordinate district sites.

You will supervise staff, ensure screening, assessment, outcomes tracking, and family engagement, while aligning with Head Start standards and state regulations. Bilingual Spanish required; valid AZ license; travel daily.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ social services experience including case management and/or supervision.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Fingerprints clearance and DHS/DES checks.
  • Travel daily to sites across Maricopa County.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and supervise team in the planning and implementation of the EHS-HS program; family engagement services.
  • Manage a designated district with specific sites in the context of a management team.
  • Oversee services provided by the EHS-HS team to enrolled children and families including screening, assessment, individualization, and outcomes tracking.
  • Monitor status of all enrolled children’s outcomes and ensure compliance with State Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Supervise documentation and provide quality assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with integrated services and community partners to ensure high‑quality development, health, nutrition, and disability services.

Job title: Family Services Manager

The Family Services Manager supervises Early Head Start/Head Start employees in the planning and implementation of the Early Head Start/Head Start program; manages a designated district(s) with specific sites in the context of a management team. Services include screening, assessment, individualization, prenatal/child outcomes tracking and coordination of overall comprehensive child development, mental health, disabilities, nutrition, health, parent involvement and family development.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversees services provided by the EHS-HS team to enrolled children and their families including screening, assessment, individualization, prenatal/child outcomes tracking and coordination of overall comprehensive child development, mental health, disabilities, nutrition, health, parent involvement and family development.
  • Monitors status of all enrolled children’s outcomes, utilizes program consultants, manages EHS-EHSCCP-HS systems and services requirements for State Regulations and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Supervises documentation and provides quality assurance activities.
  • Assures collaboration and integration of the integrated services team for high-quality early childhood development, mental health, health, nutrition, safe environments, and disability services.
  • Assists in planning, developing, and monitoring program services, policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of Early Head Start/ Head Start program services.
  • Collaborates with public school personnel and community agencies.
What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required- Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience is required, including:
    • Social services experience, including case management
    • Supervision Experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Ability to speak, write, and read Spanish is required
  • Possess an insured & registered vehicle and a valid AZ driver’s license.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • DES Criminal Affidavit Required
  • AZ DHS Criminal History Affidavit Required
  • Food Handlers Card

Bachelors or better in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Knowledge of Department of Child Safety reporting mandates
