Manages the daily operations of assigned work units including Attendants & Information Desk, Logistics, Parking & Enforcement, Patient Transport & Escort, Telephone Operations, and Transportation Program units. Plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates activities within the General Service department. Develops and maintains a customer-focused and efficient work unit supporting patient transport, mail and material delivery, information and hospitality, lost and found, parking/transportation, card access, or telephone operations. Provides budgetary input, oversees supplies and equipment purchases, initiates service agreements, and manages the work unit's budget targets. Communicates effectively with customers to coordinate and resolve problems proactively. Ensures compliance with institutional and division policies/procedures. Continuously improves work processes and data to enhance efficiencies, outcomes, and service quality. Regulates staffing based on workload fluctuations. Monitors workload to meet patient/customer needs consistently. Acts as the primary change agent for staff and the voice of the customer. Coaches, mentors, and develops team members, providing opportunities for professional growth. Provides orientation and training to new and existing team members. Participates in personnel actions including performance reviews, corrective actions, and time management. Contributes to department and Mayo Clinic committees, sub-committees, or task forces. Maintains compliance with standards from regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, OSHA, ERTKA, FDA, ADA, etc. Utilizes support resources effectively and interacts with Division and Mayo Clinic support teams. Takes leadership in emergency and mass casualty situations to ensure patient services are maintained. Continuously seeks to improve management skills and practices.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in diverse teams, or an Associate's degree with 5 years' experience, or a High School diploma/GED with 7 years' supervisory/leadership experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Must demonstrate strong supervisory, leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate across disciplines. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated influence skills. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel). Excellent analytical skills and issue resolution abilities. Lean management and/or Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
Exemption Status: Exempt
Compensation: $81,286 - $122,033 annually
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Schedule: Full-time, Daytime hours, Mon-Fri, minimal on-call rotation every 6 weeks
