Qualifications

  • 10+ years in building engineering, facilities operations, or related field.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and BAS.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and energy practices.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Experience with LA REG 4 testing if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee chiller plants and critical infrastructure across sites, data centers, and spaces.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs and annual service calendar.
  • Record maintenance activity and costs in the CMMS.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for servicing and compliance.
  • Ensure safety tasks/regulatory requirements are addressed promptly.
  • Assist capital project planning and budgeting.
  • Support Asset Management with SOPs and KPI development.
  • Maintain OSHA 30-hour certification.

Job description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Manager of Facilities Engineering! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Engineers and support staff on the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of building envelopes, systems, equipment, infrastructure and grounds for both low and high rise buildings. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, coordinate all maintenance activities, manage vendor relationships, and collaborate with contractors to ensure the facility operates efficiently, remains safe and is compliant with all regulations.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee chiller plants and other critical infrastructure supporting the sites, data centers, and critical spaces
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, including critical infrastructure, to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operations
  • Manage all MEP and critical infrastructure preventative maintenance programs. Including creating and maintaining an annual service calendar
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, equipment performance, repair history, and costs in the CMMS
  • Coordinate and oversee annual LAFD REG4 testing
  • Monitor N4 building automation systems (BAS) to optimize energy use, systems performance, and maintain comfortable environments for employees and guests. Provide updates to management and Central Monitoring teams on alarms and impacts on operations
  • Develop weekly workplans and assign preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work orders assigned through the CMMS and mobile platform with the assistance of the planner / scheduler
  • Work closely with the Critical Infrastructure System team on the ArcGIS platform, projects and emergency response strategies
  • Assist the Asset Management team developing and driving EAM processes and ensuring assets are tagged and data is accurate in the Master Asset List
  • Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) and key performance indicators (KPI's) with Facility Operations and the Asset Management team
  • Manage vendor and 3rd party contracted services to ensure scope of work is completed as required. Includes having all documents and costs added to the asset in the CMMS
  • Partner with NBCU departments to ensure compliance and safety tasks are addressed promptly (AQMD, OSHA, ADA and other regulatory requirements)
  • Support emergency preparedness initiatives and attend drills and exercises related to fire, disaster response, and business continuity
  • Work closely with the Director of Facilities and Facility Managers on capital project planning, annual operating budgets, including attending bid walks and assisting with project oversite when required
  • Support of multiple sites and assign tasks to Engineering teams as required within the Los Angeles area
  • Maintain OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Have:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities operations, critical infrastructure, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Class A commercial building operations and applicable fire/life safety testing requirements, including Los Angeles REG 4 where relevant.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS), including the ability to troubleshoot and coordinate repairs.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and energy efficiency practices.
  • Valid state Class C Driver's License
