Job summary

T5Datacenters is seeking an EHS Manager to lead and improve site-level Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a data center environment. You will partner with operations, contractors, vendors, and customer stakeholders to ensure safe work and regulatory alignment.

The role translates corporate EHS standards into effective field execution, supporting operational continuity and risk reduction. Experience in data centers or critical facilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance experience in technical environments.
• Experience supporting incident reporting, safety inspections, corrective actions, and training.
• Familiarity with permit to work, lockout/tagout, and high-risk work controls.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, EPA and AHJ compliance requirements.

The EHS Manager leads and improves site‑level Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within a critical facilities
and data center environment, overseeing practical safety implementation, regulatory and training compliance,
emergency readiness, incident response, environmental obligations, and hazardous controls. The role partners with
operations teams, contractors, vendors, corporate EHS, training groups, and customer stakeholders to ensure all work
is performed safely and in alignment with company policies, customer requirements, and AHJ regulations. The EHS
Manager provides technical support for the operation and maintenance of critical systems, translating corporate
standards and regulatory requirements into effective field execution that supports operational continuity, employee
welfare, and risk reduction. The position may also support industrial hygiene activities—including exposure
assessments, PPE evaluations, chemical handling controls, and environmental monitoring—while coordinating with
qualified specialists when deeper expertise is required

EHS Program Management and Leadership

• Lead site‑level EHS programs focused on injury prevention, environmental protection, compliance, and
  continuous improvement.
• Serve as primary EHS representative for safety execution, environmental compliance, emergency response,

• Support audits and inspections and coordinate responses and corrective actions.
• Monitor regulatory obligations related to safety, environmental protection, hazardous materials, and
  emergency planning.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to improve compliance and reduce risk.

Critical Facilities and Technical Operations Support

• Provide technical EHS support for electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, UPS, generators, cooling, and other
  critical systems.
• Review and control high‑risk work including LOTO, hot work, confined space, elevated work, and chemical
  handling.
• Support Permit to Work processes for maintenance and project activities
• Participate in planning activities including JSAs, MOP reviews, risk assessments, and pre‑task briefings

Safety Policy, Procedure, and Program Implementation

• Ensure adherence to safety policies by employees, vendors, and contractors.
• Develop and update EHS procedures and safe work practices.
• Identify execution gaps and recommend corrective actions or training.
• Support core safety programs including LOTO, hazard communication, PPE, ergonomics, and emergency
  planning.
• Promote safety performance through coaching, education, and cultural engagement.

Training Compliance and License Tracking

• Manage EHS training compliance including assignment, tracking, and documentation.
• Coordinate with training teams to ensure requirements are current and completed on time.
• Conduct safety meetings and training including toolbox talks and stand‑downs.
• Track licenses and certifications including expirations and role‑based qualifications.
• Communicate training gaps and support corrective actions.

Incident Command, Investigation, and Reporting

• Lead incident command for safety, environmental, and operational emergencies.
• Manage incident reporting including injuries, near misses, and environmental events.
• Conduct investigations using root‑cause methods and develop corrective actions.
• Prepare incident documentation including summaries, lessons learned, and customer updates.
• Track corrective actions to closure and verify effectiveness.

Emergency Response and Action Planning

• Maintain emergency action plans and response procedures.
• Coordinate drills and preparedness including evacuations, shelter‑in‑place, and severe weather planning.
• Support emergency readiness for fire, medical, chemical, environmental, fuel, utility, and weather events.
• Maintain emergency supplies including spill kits, PPE, and response equipment.
• Evaluate drills and events to identify improvements and corrective actions.

Environmental Compliance, Spill Response, and Hazardous Controls

• Support environmental compliance including hazardous materials, waste handling, stormwater, air
  permitting, and fuel storage.
• Maintain environmental documentation including plans, inspections, logs, manifests, and permits.
• Oversee spill response readiness and ensure proper controls and reporting.
• Manage hazardous materials including SDS access, labeling, storage compatibility, and inventories.
• Coordinate environmental corrective actions with operations, vendors, and SMEs.

Contractor and Vendor Safety Management

• Support contractor safety expectations for maintenance, repair, and project activities.
• Review contractor documentation including JSAs, permits, and training.
• Participate in orientations and planning for high‑risk work.
• Monitor contractor performance and elevate unsafe conditions or non‑compliance.
• Support contractor incident reviews and corrective actions.

Audits, Inspections, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement

• Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Document findings and assign actions and track them to closure.
• Maintain EHS metrics and dashboards including leading and lagging indicators.
• Analyze trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk and enhance performance.
• Support management reviews and customer business reviews.

Medical Screening, Workers’ Compensation, and Return‑to‑Work

• Coordinate medical screening programs per regulatory and customer requirements.
• Support workers’ compensation processes including documentation, modified duty, and return‑to‑work.
• Maintain confidentiality for medical and personnel information.
• Support early intervention to reduce injury severity and improve outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support corporate and customer EHS initiatives and communicate lessons learned and best practices.
• Assist with operational readiness transitions, program rollouts, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by EHS or account leadership.

Minimum of 3 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance experience, preferably in facilities
operations, critical environments, data centers, industrial operations, manufacturing, utilities, construction,
or another technical environment.

• Working knowledge of applicable safety rules, regulations, and EHS compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting incident reporting, safety inspections, corrective actions, safety training, and
  compliance documentation.
• Experience coordinating or supporting emergency response planning, spill response, hazardous material
  controls, and employee safety programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, incident summaries, corrective action plans, training updates, and leadership communications.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work in an active critical facilities environment and support urgent site needs when required.

Preferred

• 2 or more years of managerial, supervisory, or program leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science,
  Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
• Experience in data centers, critical facilities, mission-critical operations, utilities, electrical/mechanical
  infrastructure, or high-availability environments.
• OSHA 30-hour training.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, SMS, or another recognized safety credential.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, stormwater, spill prevention, fire/life safety,
  and AHJ compliance requirements.
• Experience with Permit to Work programs, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, contractor safety, and high-risk
  work controls.
• Experience using EHS, CMMS, LMS, training, or compliance tracking systems

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required for working effectively with CFM, team members,
  vendors, and customers on daily data center management
