Job summary

insightsoftware seeks a Manager of Engineering - DevOps to lead and grow a team responsible for the infrastructure, CI/CD, and reliability of our SaaS platform on AWS and Azure.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Security, owning environment reliability, cost, and deployment planning while shaping the technical direction for IaC and observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, systems, or DevOps engineering, including team leadership.
• Strong production experience on AWS and Azure, with networking, compute, storage, and IAM.
• Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform (CloudFormation or Bicep a plus).
• Proven ownership of CI/CD pipelines at scale (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git-based workflows).
• Scripting in Python (or Bash/PowerShell/Ruby).
• Experience with HA, DR, and backup on cloud platforms; containerized workloads with Kubernetes.
• Observability focus: metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs, alerting; DataDog a plus.
• Cloud security fundamentals (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain tradeoffs to engineers and executives.
• Bachelor-level technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the DevOps team, including hiring and performance management.
• Own reliability, performance, and cost of AWS and Azure SaaS production environments.
• Translate roadmap goals into infrastructure and deployment plans with Product/Engineering.
• Set technical direction for CI/CD, IaC, observability, and incident response.
• Mature ITIL-aligned service management: on-call, change management, post-incident reviews.
• Embed compliance requirements with Security (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
• Own FinOps: monitor spend, drive cost efficiency, forecast cloud costs.
• Participate in on-call rotation for mission-critical services.
• Set objectives and communicate progress to engineers, peers, and executives.

DataDog experience is a strong plus.* Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals across AWS and Azure: WAF, threat detection (GuardDuty, Defender for Cloud), vulnerability management, endpoint protection, CSPM tooling, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, SOX, ISO 27001, CIS, HIPAA).* Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain a complex tradeoff to an engineer and to a VP in the same day.* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.The salary range in United States of America for this position is 139,000.00 to 174,000.00 USD Annual. For sales roles, this range includes the commission target. For non-sales roles, this is a base salary only range; additional bonus eligibility may apply.
