Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Ventura, CA is seeking an Associate Manager - Custom Implant Design to lead a team that designs patient-specific TMJ implants and ensures geometry and fixation features meet customer and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years in engineering, product design, manufacturing or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years in people leadership or direct management.
  • Preferred: 2+ years in product design and design for manufacturing.
  • Experience using CAD software for product or component design.
  • Experience leading technical projects with planning, budgeting and resource management.
  • Experience supporting employee development and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of implant designers, including coaching and talent development.
  • Oversee custom implant design projects to meet schedule, budget and quality requirements.
  • Review design activities to ensure implant geometry and fixation align with parameters and customer specs.
  • Manage project plans, resource allocation and staffing to support timelines.
  • Resolve technical, operational and personnel issues with evaluated options.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, commercial) to execute initiatives.
  • Participate in customer-focused design activities and feedback discussions for improvements.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting and cost tracking for the team.
  • Identify process improvements to boost efficiency, quality and team effectiveness.

TMJ Concepts implants change patients’ lives by restoring form and function to their jaw joint. In this role, you will oversee designers who define implant geometry and fixation features within established design parameters to meet customer and clinical requirements.
