Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer for Customized Implants in Ventura, California. The role focuses on designing patient-specific TMJ implants and evaluating CT data to inform precise, surgeon-aligned designs.

You will create 3D implant models, prepare design packages, and collaborate with surgeons, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure design transfer and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
• Minimum 0 years of experience in engineering, design, or related technical discipline.
• Strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills.
• Internship experience in engineering, product design, or medical device manufacturing environments (preferred).
• Basic understanding of human anatomy.
• Interest in medical device design and patient-specific solutions.
• CAD software experience, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design patient-specific TMJ implants in accordance with established engineering procedures and surgeon preference listings.
• Evaluate CT scans and anatomical models for image quality, reference geometry, and suitability for design.
• Create 3D implant designs using CAD software based on surgeon input and patient-specific anatomy.
• Prepare design review packages, manufacturing drawings, and surgeon approval schematics.
• Partner with surgeons and field teams to incorporate patient-specific requirements into final designs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and customer service teams to support design transfer and production readiness.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and clinical partners regarding design progress and updates.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and meet defined turnaround timelines for each case.
