Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 2, Energetics Engineering to lead a team of manufacturing engineers supporting the manufacturing planning and execution of Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) programs at the Elkton, Maryland campus.

Relocation and Clearance

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required for start: No. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, mentor, and coach employees to ensure they are meeting expectations.
  • Provide formal feedback and development opportunities to employees.
  • Ensure the organization is providing adequate support to all production areas and PS&C programs – initiating and implementing organization improvements as needed.
  • Lead, develop, and implement process, system, and site improvements.
  • Lead special investigations or projects and establish and track overhead budgets.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience, OR a Master’s of Engineering degree with 8 years of experience.
  • 5 years of project, program, or people leadership experience.
  • Leadership qualities demonstrated in allocating time and resources supporting team members.
  • Ongoing and immediate feedback, open sharing of information and knowledge, and encouraging suggestions and ideas from team members.
  • Experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements.
  • Strong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels.
  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of process and automation control.
  • Ability to establish schedules and workflows with the capability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Ability to convey clear and concise direction and expectations.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using SPC to monitor and improve processes.
  • Lean manufacturing certification/experience.
  • Prior Program Manager experience.
  • New facility design and start‑up experience.
  • An active DOD Secret or higher clearance.
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00.
