Job summary

Power Solutions International is seeking a Manager of Employee Benefits to lead the design, administration, and enhancement of comprehensive employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, and 401(k) plans.

The role reports to the HR Director and focuses on data analysis, regulatory compliance (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, DOL, ERISA), and vendor coordination to attract and retain talent across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or Business, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience managing employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness).
• Experience auditing a large-scale 401(k) retirement plan with vendor oversight.
• Proficient with MS Office and Paycom HRIS.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and administration of benefit programs and enrollment cycles.
• Provide support on questions about benefits; interpret plan documents for administration.
• Develop regular leadership reports on program effectiveness and cost impact.
• Manage vendor relationships for medical/dental/vision/LTD/401(k) plans and audit invoices.
• Maintain HRIS data in Paycom and assist with security administration.

Position Summary

Reporting to the HR Director, the Manager, Employee Benefits manages and administers benefits, and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, wellness, and 401(k) plan. This individual will develop and administer processes and controls to allow effective data analysis and reporting of benefits, maintain the accuracy of employee benefits, ensure compliance with regulations, and effectively use resources to attract and retain employees through benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and administration of benefit programs, including medical, dental, disability, life insurance, employee assistance, retirement, wellness, and other plans. Manage the new hire and annual open enrollment cycle, interfacing with other members of the HR team, vendors, and other parties.
• Provide responsive support and resolution for PSI's managers and employees on questions related to benefits. Interpret health and welfare, 401k retirement, programs, policies, and plan documents to facilitate administration, respond to questions, and interface with vendors, brokers & partners independently to solve complex problems.
• Develop regular reporting for leadership to monitor effectiveness of programs, model cost impact, and make recommendations for changes.
• Support vendor relationships related to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, HSA, FSA, and 401(k) plans. Help identify vendors, establish vendor standards and SLAs, and monitor and evaluate performance with a focus on timely delivery, quality, and managing costs. Audit benefits invoices.
• Manage and maintain HRIS database (Paycom), to support benefits operations strategy, and working closely with Payroll and HRIS. Assist with system security administration.
• Partner with the broker and counsel to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, DOL and ERISA.
• Manage the leave of absence process, ensuring leaves are complaint with all applicable state and federal law. Lead the communication process to all leave stakeholders.
• Develops and manages an integrated wellness program to support employees and dependents.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business preferred; may substitute with direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise.
• Demonstrated success in managing employee benefits policies, offerings (medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, and wellness), procedures, administration for a high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing, administering, and auditing a large scale 401(K) retirement plan. This includes experience with regulatory compliance, plan controls, annual audits, and vendor oversight.
• Tech savvy with experience using MS Office (especially Excel) and an HRIS (ideally Paycom)
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
• Subject Matter Expertise in ADA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, DOL, and ERISA
• Manufacturing industry experience supporting a significant non-exempt employee population a plus.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee information
• Project Management success.
